Coed Varsity Rowing vs USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships on 05/10/2025

The Peddie varsity rowing team competed Day 1 of the USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships at Caspersen Rowing Center.

The girls’ 1V and 3V advanced to tomorrow’s finals, as well as the boys’ novice 8+. It was a windy day at Mercer Lake. As a result, the schedule was compressed by eliminating the round of semifinals for Youth Nationals qualifying events. Instead of finishing in the top 14, everyone had to finish in the top 7 in a time trial to make it to tomorrow’s finals.

The girls rowed a hard internal race and their final sprint earned them the seventh qualifying position. They will come back and race in the final during Day 2.

After high winds, delays, numerous reschedulings and the elimination of semifinals, the boys were able to race.

The Boys Youth Coxed 4 had rough conditions for their time trial on Saturday afternoon and placed 21st of 29 crews. The Boys U17 Coxed Four placed 11th out of 19 crews, missing qualifying for finals by only six seconds — with the elimination of semifinals, unfortunately only the top 7 crews advanced from the time trials.
