This is the first year that the MAPL has used a straight stroke play format with both an individual and team winner, so Eason is officially Peddie’s first-ever individual MAPL champion under this structure. It’s also his first individual tournament win for Peddie, which makes the accomplishment even more meaningful, said varsity boys golf head coach Ben Bickford.
“As only a sophomore, Eason has developed into a very solid player this season,” Bickford said. “He has sometimes gotten off to a slow start, and we have discussed different ways to address that. Today, he came out of the gate playing excellent golf, and I could not be happier for him and his result.”
The Falcons next host West Windsor-Plainsboro North High School on Friday, May 2 at 3:30 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.
