Coed Varsity Rowing vs Stotesbury Cup Regatta on 05/17/2025
The varsity girls’ Senior and Second Fours both qualified from Friday’s time trials to come back and race in Saturday’s semi-finals. The Senior Four finished a solid 11th of 51 to capture one of the 18 qualifying spots. The Second Four finished a very strong sixth of 27 crews to claim one of the 12 qualifying spots.
Because of deteriorating river conditions, very late Friday night, regatta organizers reduced the number of teams coming back for Saturday’s semis, limiting the Senior Four to the top 12 and the Second Four to the top 6. Rather than racing in traditional lanes side-by-side, the format was changed to another time trial. Medals would be awarded based on time.
At 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, racing was canceled due to river flow and debris. Medals were awarded based on Friday’s time trial.
The boys second four narrowly missed qualifying, placing 15th out of 27, only three seconds out of the qualifying range of top 12. The senior boys placed 22nd out of 52, missed qualifying in the top 18 by two seconds.
The Falcons next compete in the SRAA National Championships Regatta from Friday, May 23 to Saturday, May 24 at Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey.
