Coed Varsity Rowing vs USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships on 05/11/2025
In spite of significant schedule adjusting, the girls’ first and third boats qualified for the finals. The second boat might have as well, had they been in a different heat. Everyone raced hard and well. Peddie’s first boat moved up a spot in their ranking by finishing sixth overall in their 7-boat final. The top four in this event qualified for Youth Nationals. The Falcon’s third boat finished sixth of six in their final in accordance with their qualifying time. Everyone gained valuable racing experience in preparation for the Stotesbury Cup Regatta next weekend.
The novice girls also raced well finishing fourth in their heat, missing their final by one place.
Sunday morning, the Boys 2V Coxed 4 raced in Heat 1 of their event and placed sixth (their time would have put them in the middle of the pack in the other two heats, but that’s a part of racing).
Of particular note is the Boys Novice 8, who placed second in their heat and qualified for their final, even after a wheel on stroke’s seat broke in the first 200 meters and he rowed arms and body only for the remainder of the race. In the afternoon final they placed fourth, just a few seconds off the podium.
