AP Seminar

Credits: 3.0
Grades: 11
Prerequisite: Approved for Summer Signature

In AP Seminar, students will learn to find, comprehend and synthesize primary research, culminating in a review of the academic literature on a particular topic. Students will further learn how to craft an argument based on this research and present that argument to an academic audience.

The course’s core assessments are: a team presentation on a chosen topics; a report covering a lens within that topic; an individually written argument based on preselected stimulus material from the College Board; and an individual presentation of that stimulus-generated argument.

As part of this course, students will also complete the necessary research and planning for their Summer Signature project, to be completed the subsequent summer. Thus, the class is limited to those students that are enrolled in the Summer Signature Experience.
