James A. Hamilton became Peddie’s 17th Head of School on July 1, 2025.
Previously the Head of School of Berwick Academy in Maine, Jim has spent his entire career in independent schools. In addition to his work at Berwick, he was the Associate Head for External Affairs at Brooks School in Massachusetts and the Director of Admission at St. George’s School in Rhode Island. He began his independent school career at Brooks, where his first role was Director of Financial Aid and Associate Director of Admission.
In addition to his leadership roles, Jim has taught English; coached basketball, baseball and football; and served as an advisor and dorm parent.
A lifelong New Englander, Jim attended The Roxbury Latin School in Boston before earning degrees from Amherst College (B.A., English) and Wesleyan University (M.A., Liberal Studies). He gives back to the schools he attended, including serving on the Board of Trustees of Roxbury Latin and as a class agent at Amherst. Well-known in the independent school community, Jim is the chair of the Board of Trustees of the Enrollment Management Association.
Jim and his wife, Lucy, live on campus and have three children.
Shivani Agarwal P’25 joined Peddie in 2023 as the school’s inaugural director of human resources. Reporting to the head of school, she is responsible for providing strategic human resource leadership at Peddie, including the management of policies, practices and procedures. Prior to Peddie, she worked in several corporate HR roles in California and also led the HR operations of one of Asia’s oldest boarding schools. Shivani is a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and earned her master’s degree in economics and an MBA from GB Pant University, India.

Kurt Bennett joined Peddie’s English Department in 2012. A graduate of Amherst College and Middlebury College, Bennett taught humanities at Culver Academies before joining Peddie. He shares dorm duty in Mariboe Dormitory. Bennett resides on campus with his wife, Bryn (admission).
Jenate Brown
Assistant Head for Student Life Dean of Students, 12th Grade English Teacher Head Coach, Girls Junior Varsity Basketball
Jenate Brown joined Peddie’s English Department in 2015 after starting her teaching career in Baltimore City Public Schools. Outside of the classroom, Brown coaches junior varsity basketball, is the assistant head for student life, and dean of students for the 12th and PG classes. She resides on campus with her wife, Sarah Fitzpatrick (Community Life), daughter and dog.
LaVern Burton joined Peddie as the director of diversity, equity and inclusion in 2023. Burton combines successful pastoral, management and program design/development work. A 14-year veteran DEI director with experience in a variety of school settings, as well as significant teaching experience in academic classes, she has earned respect from her colleagues for her candid and specific guidance as well as disciplined follow-through in the complex world of K-12 schools. Burton earned her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and has management experience in business, as well as working for USAID in The Gambia.
Rich D’Andrea
Director of Athletics Head Coach, Boys Varsity Lacrosse
Rich D’Andrea ’01 became Peddie’s director of athletics in 2023 after working as an assistant director of admission for two years. He also coaches the boys lacrosse team, which he has done since 2021. D’Andrea has crafted a blueprint that’s founded on the idea of “education through athletics.” He’s focused on enhancing the student-athlete experience, including a shift in the after-school activity requirements to allow athletes to spend more than one season training for their primary sport. Intensifying recruiting efforts, providing professional development opportunities for coaches and working alongside outside programs are scaffolded into his model. Before coming back to Peddie, D’Andrea was an admission officer, classroom teacher, and successful varsity coach at Princeton Day School. A Peddie graduate, D’Andrea earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Georgetown University, where he was an all-conference lacrosse goalie.
Carrie Harrington
Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications Editor of the Peddie Chronicle
Carrie Harrington joined Peddie’s Communications Department in 2016. She is the editor of the school’s award-winning alumni magazine, Peddie Chronicle, and oversees the organization’s content marketing. Harrington previously served as director of marketing and communications at the Marin Humane Society in Novato, Calif., and Purnell School in Pottersville, N.J. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in communications.

Tyler Hart, Ed.D., joined Peddie as the director of enrollment management in 2025. Hart brings 15 years of admissions leadership experience to Peddie. He previously served as the director of admissions and financial aid at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts and the director of admission at Villanova Preparatory School in California. Throughout his career, Hart has also been a math teacher, a math department chair, and a director of student activities, in addition to holding multiple leadership positions in professional organizations.

Alison Hogarth joined Peddie’s History Department in 2006 after nine years of teaching history at the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, taking the helm as department chair in 2017. Hogarth introduced the government program to the department, which now offers Intro to Government, AP Government and American Legal Systems, and also worked to develop the Modern Global curriculum. Hogarth served as co-chair of the school’s accreditation process from 2014-2016. As a teacher in residence, Hogarth organizes student elections, serves on the Disciplinary Committee and officiates as head timer for varsity basketball and field hockey. Hogarth lives on campus and is part of the Coleman Dormitory faculty team.
Gregory Koch joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 2019 and is currently the department chair. He also serves as the programming mentor for Peddie’s FIRST Robotics team and is a resident dorm faculty at Kaye South. He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Austin College. His master’s degree in computer science is from the University of Toronto, where he worked at the Artificial Intelligence Lab designing deep neural networks. Previously, he taught Pre-Algebra through Calculus at Great Hearts Academies in Arizona, in addition to coaching MATHCOUNTS. Koch enjoys working with students of all levels and helping them build their confidence when doing more challenging mathematics. He has taught a variety of courses at Peddie, including MPS1 Honors, MPS2 Advanced, MPS2 Honors, Pre-Calculus, Pre-Calculus Honors, Calculus and Linear Algebra.

Alan Michaels joined the Peddie community in 1998. He currently serves as chair of the Arts Department and director of music. He also continues to perform on Broadway as a professional musician. Alan and his wife live on campus and have three children.

Since 2010, Emily has served Peddie first as the Director of Academic Technology and an art teacher, and now as Director of Technology. Before joining Peddie, Emily held roles as a technology integrator, teacher, coach, and advisor at Stuart Country Day School and The International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan. Emily also dedicates time to the community as an emergency rescue diver with the Hightstown Fire Department.
Sanjeev Puri

Sanjeev Puri P’25 joined the Peddie community in 2021 as the assistant head of school for finance and operations. Puri spent the first sixteen years of his career in the technology and business consulting industry, advising clients on re-engineering processes and leveraging technology to solve day-to-day problems. In 2014, he moved to education administration, taking up the role as chief operating officer at Woodstock School, one of South Asia’s most reputed international schools. Puri earned his bachelor’s degree from GB Pant University and his MBA from the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, both in India. He is excited to help in propelling Peddie’s strategic vision forward through operational excellence, financial sustainability and careful stewardship of resources. He resides on campus with his family and is a dorm faculty member in Kaye North.

Matthew Roach joined Peddie’s English Department in 2009. A graduate of Williams College and the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English, Roach began serving as the English Department chair in 2016 and the director of teaching and learning in 2022. He is the head coach for girls varsity soccer, currently resides on campus and is an advisor for Spikeball Club.

After teaching in Spain for eight years, José Ruiz joined Peddie in 2003 and is the chair of the Language Department. He lives on campus with his wife, Rocío, and their two falcons. Ruiz coaches cross country and serves as residential faculty in our All-Gender Housing (Trask Dorm). He has spent several summers as a program director with the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy summer program, where he helps high school students fully immerse themselves in a foreign culture. Ruiz strives to spark students’ cultural curiosity in his language classes. “Giving students insight into the life and people of another country creates a context for the practice of grammar and vocabulary and translates to a much stronger sense of purpose and connection.”

Director of College Counseling Joe Rulewich P’28 ’29 joined the Peddie community in 2006. Rulewich also coaches varsity boys basketball and helps coordinate Peddie’s Postgraduate program. Prior to Peddie, Rulewich served as the associate director of admissions and athletics at Ursinus College, where he coordinated the recruiting efforts of all varsity coaches and also coached basketball. A 1994 graduate of Haverford College, Rulewich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and competed as a two-sport varsity athlete in basketball and baseball. He resides on campus with his wife and two children.

Bob Amar joined Peddie’s faculty in 2025 after 20 years of teaching in independent schools in Atlanta, Georgia. He has taught all levels of mathematics in addition to a wide variety of subjects such as physics, computer science and music theory. He has served as a department chair, AP Statistics exam reader, music director, quiz bowl coach and robotics mentor. Bob graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and a Master of Science in computer science.
Jenny Amieiro joined Peddie’s faculty in 2023. A learning specialist with experience at The School at Columbia and Carmel Academy, Amieiro has worked at elementary and middle schools, providing developmentally appropriate, culturally competent, research-based strategies into teaching and assessment practices. A native Spanish-speaker, Amieiro has taught both Spanish and mathematics, with expertise in helping students who struggle in mathematics.

Marilyn Anker has been a member of the Arts Department since 1998. Serving as coordinator of cultural events, Marilyn’s responsibilities include managing ticket sales and promotion for arts events at Peddie, assisting with stage productions and organizing student trips to Broadway each term. In the theater, Marilyn has designed lighting on over 60 productions at Peddie. An avid cyclist and Ironman triathlete, she was an active chaperone for 23 Sophomore Bike Trips between 2004 and 2022.

Christine is a licensed certified public account. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Business Administration in professional accounting from Rutgers University.

Ben Bickford P’20 ’24 ’26 joined Peddie’s History Department faculty in 2005, after previously teaching at The Chapin School in Princeton, New Jersey. In addition to his classroom duties, Bickford is also boys varsity golf head coach and serves as dorm supervisor in Kaye Dormitory. He lives on campus with his family.
Nika Blank joined Peddie in 2022 as a member of our science faculty. She graduated with her Master of Science in biological oceanography and received her Bachelor of Science in environmental science, both from Florida State University. Prior to Peddie, Nika was a research assistant at the Florida State University Coastal and Marine Lab, working on shallow-water and deep sea coral ecosystems, she was a STEM educator at Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee and a teaching assistant at both Florida State University and The Hun School. Nika resides on campus and is affiliated with Masters Thirds. Outside of the classroom, she is a dorm supervisor and an assistant coach for Peddie’s swim team.
Christopher Blauth has been working as the supervisor of Campus Security & Safety since 2009. Blauth received his Bachelor of Science in criminology from the College of New Jersey. In addition, Blauth is the supervisor of campus mail operations here at Peddie.

Lauren Bonaventura Sorrento joined Peddie in 2024. In her role at Peddie, Lauren focuses on analytics, reporting, data integrity and enhancing development operations. She came to Peddie after seven years in development at an independent school in Brooklyn, New York. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in accounting from Saint John’s University. After college, she pursued a career in auditing at an accounting firm in Brooklyn specializing in nonprofits.
Tim Brennan has coached at Peddie since 1992. He has USATF Level I and II certification for sprints/hurdles. He is also a USATF and IAAF/World Athletics registered coach. He has coached more than 70 Scholastic Nationals qualifiers. In 2005, Tim was named to “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” for his work as a coach at Peddie, one of only a handful of coaches to be honored in the history of the award. In addition to coaching, he teaches at a local elementary school.
Maxine Brown P’25 joined Peddie’s Academic Support/Student Counseling Department in 2017. A graduate of Rutgers University, Brown lives on campus with her husband, Kevin Brown (science), and their two children.
Kevin Brown P’25 joined Peddie in 2008. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering from Cooper Union, and his Master of Science in environmental management from University of London. Brown’s research experience includes work in nuclear chemistry for the US Department of Energy, chemical engineering for South Bank University in London and virology for Academia Sinica in Taipei. Previously he has also been business manager for a daily newspaper, presentation graphics specialist for an investment bank, as well as a dean and science teacher at Pace Academy in Atlanta. Brown is the director of Peddie Summer School, and is a mentor for Peddie’s FRC robotics team. He resides on campus with his wife, Maxine Brown (Counseling Department) and their two children.

Karly Bullock ’19 joined Peddie’s Admission Office in 2025, returning to campus with a deep appreciation for the school community and a passion for connecting with prospective families. As a Peddie alumna, Karly served as a head tour guide during her time as a student and developed a strong interest in outreach and relationship-building. After earning her degree in business administration from Bucknell University, Karly worked in executive search for the financial services industry in New York City. She is excited to bring her professional experience and Peddie pride to her role in domestic recruitment and outreach, helping to shape future generations of Peddie students.

Shawn Caple joined the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications in 2025. As the senior manager of videography and photography, he leads the strategic development of visual narratives that advance Peddie’s mission. Prior to coming to Peddie, Shawn managed his own production company, working for mid-size to large corporations in scripted and event work. He graduated with degrees in history and film from Rutgers University.

Originally from upstate New York, Joyce Chen earned B.F.A. and M.A.T. degrees from Rhode Island School of Design in 2013 and 2014, and an M.S.Ed. in 2023 in learning sciences and technology from the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Joyce enjoys frequenting museums and arts events.
Andrew Cincotta started joined Building Services in 2022 as a general maintenance worker. Before Peddie, he worked in landscaping, specializing in commercial and residential irrigation.

Mark Cirnigliaro joined Peddie’s Theater Department in 2018, after previous work as a director, teaching artist and adjunct professor in various theater and university settings. Cirnigliaro revised the Theater Foundations class to be more holistic in its approach to theater as an art form, including puppetry, directing, design and play writing. He also revised Advanced Acting to be driven through Uta Hagens’ approach to acting. Cirnigliaro has had world-renowned playwrights teach master classes in playwriting, and Broadway stars teach master classes in Musical Theater. In addition, Mark has created a new puppetry class where students build and perform with their own puppets, and a set design class where students learn the art form and get to design one of Peddie’s main stage productions. He is the advisor for Art-Ivism, Drama Club, Dumbledore’s Army and Magic Club. Cirnigliaro oversees the Peddie Declamation Contest, Spring Play, Winter Musical and The Reeves Speaking Contest. He resides on campus with his family and is part of the Potter South Dormitory faculty team.
Heather Comisky is a registered nurse with over 20 years experience. She is a nursing leader and health educator, and holds her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Delaware. Heather also enjoys teaching the 10th grade community life classes at Peddie, certifying the 10th grade students, nursing & security staff in CPR, and being a part of the Peddie community.
Paul Cramer joined Peddie in 2019. Paul received psychology and business administration degrees from Albright College. He formerly served as vice president for enrollment and dean of admission at Albright College, and vice president for enrollment at Elizabethtown College. In addition to his duties as registrar, Cramer assists with Peddie’s soccer and baseball teams.

Craig Dale P’24 joined Peddie’s Visual Arts Department in 2019 after a long professional career as a freelance photographer and exhibiting artist. Dale has taught photography and color theory to graduate and undergraduate students at the Academy of Art San Francisco, and design thinking to undergraduate students at the New School for Architecture and Design. He received his Associate of Arts from Cabrillo College, his Bachelor of Arts in photography from Brooks Institute, and his Master of Fine Arts in visual art from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Dale earned his teaching credential from New Jersey City University, and is currently doing post-graduate work focused on visual literacy at the University of Rhode Island. In addition to his teaching obligations, Dale is an advisor for Peddie’s Film Club and Pics at Peddie. He is also the assistant technical director for theater set crew, and is proudly the AP Studio Art teacher. He is a member of the Kaye North Dormitory faculty team and lives on campus with his daughter.

Jodi Nelson-Desai joined the Alumni and Development Office as the Assistant Director of The Peddie Fund and Family Giving with over 20 years of combined professional and volunteer experience in education, including having worked part time in Peddie’s Admission Office. She works with families to learn more about their Peddie experience and introduces ways to stay connected and support the Peddie community. Jodi has served on multiple private and public school boards including serving as president of the Peddie Parents Association. Brandon Detherage is a digital marketing and creative professional whose experience includes many years in independent school communication as well as the technology and publishing industries. His expertise is in branding and visual identity, web design and strategy, digital marketing, inbound marketing, photography, graphic design, advertising and art direction.
Michelle Dewey-Dawson joined Peddie’s Language Department in 2019. She graduated from University of Illinois, Ubana-Champaign and did a year-long Fulbright Exchange Program in Mexico. Michelle formerly taught in four different public, private and international schools.

Patrick Diehl joined Peddie’s Science Department after 28 years teaching in high schools, 17 of those years being in international schools with stops in Hong Kong, Thailand and Israel. Prior to his international experience, Diehl taught at Ashley Hall School in South Carolina. He has taught all levels of physics, including within AP and IB programs. Diehl earned his Ph.D. in science and engineering materials from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Virginia, respectively.
Kevin Doherty joined Peddie’s Technology Department in 2022. He previously worked as a database manager at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Kevin has lived in New Jersey with his wife, Ruth since 2013.

Since 2001, Brian Dubrule P’17 ’19 has served as the director of the Walter H. Annenberg ’27 Library, as well as the girls varsity tennis head coach. Prior to Peddie, Brian worked as a librarian, director of technology and tennis coach at St. Peter’s Prep. He lives on campus with his wife and four children.
Doreen Duck joined the Deans’ Office in 2015. Having previously worked in Roosevelt Public School as the assistant to the business administrator, she brings a wealth of administrative knowledge. An integral part of the organization and communication of the Deans’ Office, she is a touchpoint for all Peddie students.

Amy Eberly joined Peddie as the Signature Experience Coordinator in 2025. She is responsible for teaching approximately 30 Summer Signature students each year. Amy comes to us with over 14 years of teaching experience, 12 of those spent at Gateway Academy Charter School in Newark, New Jersey. There, she created an internship program for 10th-12th graders as well as directed a week-long intersession program for the entire school. Amy received her Master of Science in elementary education from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Bachelor of Arts in individualized study from New York University. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to podcasts like Heavyweight and Armchair Anonymous, as well as playing word and number games.
Grant Edwards
Assistant Director of College Counseling Head Coach, Boys Varsity Cross Country Assistant Coach, Outdoor Track and Field

Grant Edwards joined Peddie’s English Department in 2017. Grant brings ten years teaching and coaching experience from St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. He is proud to serve on the Head’s Advisory Committee, and has previously been the faculty representative to the Board of Trustees. Grant became a part of Peddie’s College Counseling Office in 2020, and works with juniors and seniors during their college searches, while also teaching freshmen in the interdisciplinary Humanities program. He is also a varsity head coach for cross country and is an avid runner, running cross country and track in high school, and completing four half marathons. The cross country team won the coveted MAPL title in the fall of 2018 under his coaching. He resides on campus with his family.
With 25 years of experience coaching football, including a stint as interim head coach at Columbia University, Mark Fabish brings a formidable pedigree to Peddie.
“Mark brings tremendous football experience to Peddie,” said Athletic Director Rich D’Andrea ’01 in a statement to Peddie Football families. “While his accomplishments in the football arena are impressive, his character is equally impressive. We’re eager for him to get started.”
A Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. native, Fabish’s football journey began at Bergen Catholic High School, where he helped the school win consecutive state championships before rising to prominence as an All-Ivy receiver at the University of Pennsylvania. He led the Quakers to two Ivy League championships as a player and an NCAA-record 24-game win streak from 1993-95. And in his five years there as a coach, he guided the Quakers to three Ivy championships.
He has also coached at the University of Rhode Island, Monmouth University and Columbia University. At Columbia, he was credited with leading a highly-successful and efficient offensive unit, one of the best in program history.
Fabish served as an offensive coordinator at Columbia from 2016-22, during which time Columbia amassed 27 victories, its highest win total in such a span since the institution joined the Ivy League in 1956.
As offensive coordinator at Monmouth University, he coached former NFL wide receiver Miles Austin.
Fabish’s arrival at Peddie holds the promise of ushering in a new era marked by excellence and success.
He lives on campus with his wife and two sons.

Kimberly Felong joined Peddie’s Science Department in 2005. As laboratory/enterprise risk manager for The Peddie School, Kim manages all aspects of environmental health & safety in the Science Department, as well as campus-wide environmental risk assessment and compliance. Felong graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in biology.
Brooke Foster joined Peddie’s Communications Department in 2026 as a Communications Associate. Brooke’s experience with patient advocacy, corporate communications and academic content creation fuel her passion for storytelling. She graduated from Rider University with a degree in English with a concentration in writing.

Originally from Poland, Karolina Fraczkowska P’21 ’24 joined Peddie’s Science Department faculty in 2016, although her family has been connected to Peddie since 2001. Fraczkowska has been teaching chemistry, AP chemistry, AP biology and genetics in private schools since 2007, and was a teaching assistant in both biochemistry and experimental biology courses at M.I.T. A life-long learner, she is currently pursuing her Master of Art degree in liberal arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md., and is teaching an English class in the spring trimester, “Crime and Punishment”. In her free time, Karolina is learning to play the banjo.
Austin Frank joined Peddie’s History Department faculty in 2015 and is the varsity wrestling head coach. He has been involved in the sport of wrestling for over 20 years. Austin was a three-time regional qualifier, a New Jersey state qualifier, the first wrestler at his high school to reach the 100-win milestone, and holds the school record for most career pins. He wrestled and played football at Wesleyan University. During his tenure, the football program won a NESCAC and Little Three title. In 2012, he contributed to the wrestling program’s second New England Wrestling Association championship, the first since 1984. In 2013, he wrestled in the Division III National Dual Championships, where his team finished 6th overall. Austin has served on the Athletics, Disciplinary and Head’s Advisory Committees. He resides on campus and supervises Potter South Dormitory.

Desmond Frost joined Peddie’s Science Department faculty in 2021. He received his Bachelor of Science in physics with a double minor in chemistry and mathematics from West Chester University in 2013. He then went on to receive his Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University in 2021. He has eight years of experience teaching physics, as well as AP physics. He resides on campus and serves as a dorm faculty member for Kaye North.
Mark Gartner ’84 P’08 ’10 joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 1990 after previously teaching at Trinity-Pawling School. Aimee Goodman joined Peddie as director of health services in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Science from Muhlenberg College, and her D.O. from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Goodman was previously employed in private practice pediatrics for twelve years, she now lives on campus with her family.
Kristen Gounis has been working in the Admission Office since 2010. Kristen earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in marketing and finance from Iona College. Prior to Peddie, Kristen spent eight years in the marketing department of a professional services firm in New York City with a focus on database marketing.
Katie Grant joined the Alumni & Development Office as the associate director of The Peddie Fund. Grant came to Peddie after spending seven years in higher education fundraising and alumni engagement. She works to build relationships and develop opportunities to keep alumni engaged and connected with their alma mater and giving back in ways that are most meaningful to them. Grant received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Franklin & Marshall College, where she was also an All-American swimmer.

Director of Choral Music Assistant Coach, Cross Country
Marisa Green joined the Peddie community in 2008. She lives on campus and is involved in the field hockey, musical theater, and Asian Studies programs in addition to directing Peddie’s choral music program and teaching courses such as Music Foundations and AP Music Theory. She is also active as a freelance music director, conductor, pit orchestra musician, and accompanist.
Emmett Grosland has been designing the scenery for Peddie’s theater since 2022. He joined the Peddie community as a full-time visual arts teacher in 2025. Emmett previously spent 20+ years as an independent artist and trans advocate in New York City. His professional work spans a wide range of mediums including painting, ceramics, graphic design, scenic design, illustration, acting, vocal performance and dance. Emmett graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis.

Barb Grudt has served as trustee liaison and director of rowing/head girls rowing coach at Peddie since 2007. As trustee liaison, Grudt coordinates the work of Peddie’s Board of Trustees. She also serves as director of the Sports Hall of Fame. Grudt holds a B.A. and an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania and is a two-time Olympian.
Mia Gutierrez-Huang ’22 returned to Peddie in Fall 2026 after graduating from Brown University with honors bachelor’s degrees in English and music. While attending Peddie, she discovered her passion for literature, the arts, athletics and the Peddie community. From acting in various musicals to starting a book club to rowing on the varsity team, Gutierrez-Huang has explored many facets of Peddie. In her role on the Admission team, she is eager to connect with others to share the opportunities the school has to offer.
Karina Heaton joined Peddie as a psychologist in the Counseling and Psychological Services Department in 2025. Her role is primarily focused on individual counseling, outreach, psychoeducational groups and co-teaching Community Life. Karina received her Doctorate of Psychology at Rutgers University with a concentration in school psychology and her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Duke University. Karina has completed practicum work in Piscataway, New Providence and New York City public school districts. She is most passionate about supporting adolescent mental health and wellbeing within a school setting.

Laura-Lee Hensle ’92 joined the Alumni and Development Department in 2015, bringing over twenty years of experience in special events planning. Laura-Lee earned her Bachelor of Science in management and marketing from Elmira College and an M.B.A. in hospitality management from Johnson and Wales University. She serves as director of special events managing alumni and parent events both on campus and around the world.
Laura Hoffman P’25 joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 2013. She has taught mathematics in various public and private high schools since 1999, and also taught online for K12.com. Hoffman received her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics-secondary education from Providence College from Lesley University, and her Master of Arts in technology in education . Previously, Hoffman performed freelance curriculum development and design for Microsoft, Words & Numbers and the Research and Education Foundation. Jeremy Irzyk is intimately familiar with boarding schools, having grown up on the campus of Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. After graduating from Williams College in 2021, Jeremy worked at Pomfret School where he was the humanities program coordinator, head varsity baseball coach and dorm head. He joins the Peddie community as a history teacher, dorm supervisor and assistant coach of junior varsity boys soccer, thirds boys basketball and varsity boys baseball.
Erin Jesionowski joined Peddie’s Admission Office in 2024. In addition to interviewing students and traveling, Erin coordinates on-campus and virtual events for the Office of Admission. Erin holds a degree in Communication and Media Studies from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland.

Yiqun Jiang joined Peddie’s faculty in 2007 and currently directs the Asian Studies Program. Her work includes designing and leading international trips, chaperoning domestic student trips, organizing campus-wide Chinese holiday celebrations, assisting with Peddie’s International Food Fair and International Awareness Day Program and translating documents to facilitate communication between Peddie and Chinese families. Jiang resides on campus and coordinates Peddie’s Family Style dinners and the Chinese Culture Club. She is a member of the Masters Dormitory faculty team.
Paula Jones came to Peddie in 2019 after more than a decade as assistant to the head of school at an independent school in Princeton. At Peddie, she supports coordination of communications and logistics for events, while also overseeing the Alumni and Development Office budget and managing Swetland House. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her two children, getting lost in a good book and sharing her love of reading by serving as a steward of a Little Free Library in her community.

Danielle Kelley joined Peddie in 2023 after 20 years at Grier School, a 7-12 girls’ day and boarding school. While there, Kelley taught Pre-Algebra through Linear Algebra and AP Statistics, served as math department chair, varsity cross country head coach, and community service coordinator. Since 2016, Kelley has spent her summers teaching at the Wolfeboro Camp School, an experience she has particularly enjoyed. Prior to joining Peddie, Brooke spent the bulk of her career working at educational access organizations, including Prep for Prep and The TEAK Fellowship.
Lynn Klionsky joined Peddie in 2017 after serving multiple roles in the nonprofit arena, including fundraising event coordination and gift processing. She received her bachelor’s degree from Douglass College, Rutgers University. As the development operations coordinator, Lynn ensures gifts made to Peddie are recorded correctly and acknowledged quickly.

Joe La Bella ’03 returns to Peddie after an eight-year run at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Maryland. A 2007 graduate of Loyola College in Maryland, La Bella majored in English as an undergraduate and returned for a master’s degree in educational technology. He also has a master’s degree in English from the University of Maryland. At Loyola Blakefield, La Bella immersed himself in the school culture, coaching freshman soccer, founding and leading the school’s Anti-Racist Group (LARG), and sponsoring student clubs such as the Improv Club, The Multicultural Club and the Chess Club.

Imad Labban P’10 ’12 ’14 joined Peddie’s Mathematics faculty in 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Imad developed curriculum for Financial Markets and is a two-time recipient of the Dr. Wilbour Eddy Saunders Society Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching. He also is the investment advisor for the Peddie School Student Investment Committee (PSSIC), the YEC Business Club and is involved in Peddie’s FIRST Robotics Team. Imad spent three years on the Board of Trustees and was faculty chair for the Campaign Executive Committee.
Born and raised in East Windsor, Erin spent six and a half years in private practice pediatrics. She is excited to work with Dr. Goodman again after previously doing so at Healthy Kids Pediatric Group.

Nathalie Letourneau joined Peddie’s Language Department in 2013. She holds degrees from both Thomas Edison State University and University of Besançon, France. She is a polyglot with a lifelong interest in languages and cultures of the world. Nathalie is co-chair of the development committee and assessment design for the AP French exam.
Coach Heather Librizzi joined Peddie in 2021 as assistant coach for both the varsity swim team and the Peddie Aquatic Association Senior Performance group. Since then, athletes have qualified for and finaled at Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals and TYR Pro Series meets. Before Peddie, Heather coached with New York City’s Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics as the lead Senior 1 coach, where her swimmers advanced from Junior Olympics through Junior Nationals. She also coached under Olympic medalist Bill Forrester at Georgia Coastal Aquatic Club, developing nationally-ranked 9–12 age group freestylers, including athletes who later qualified for the USA Swimming National Junior Team. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Heather was the 2012 NAIA National Champion in the 1650 freestyle, a three-time All-American, team captain and part of SCAD’s 2010 National Championship team. In high school she was a YMCA National finalist in the 100 & 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle.
Jennifer has 15 years of experience in the medical industry. She has been a nurse since 2013, and is actively pursuing her RN. Jennifer grew up in Hightstown and loves being a part of the Peddie team.

Shannon Madden ’13 joined the Alumni & Development Office in July 2021 and is currently the associate director of The Peddie Fund and engagement. Shannon comes to Peddie after spending four years working in the advertising industry at a media agency, where she developed strategy recommendations for a global consumer packaged goods brand. In her role, Shannon focuses on increasing participation for Peddie’s annual fund as well as building out alumni engagement efforts for volunteers and affinity groups. Shannon received her Bachelor of Science in business administration from Babson College, where she was also a member of the softball team. Shannon is the assistant coach for varsity softball, supporting today’s students as they develop as student athletes and ultimately join the ranks of Peddie alumni.
Mary Tennyson Mahoney ’94 P’26 ’29 joined Peddie in 2010, following a career in corporate recruiting and human resources. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and art history from The College of the Holy Cross. Prior to becoming the manager of The Peddie Store in 2023, Mary spent 15 years in Peddie’s Alumni and Development Office focusing on fundraising and strengthening ties with alumni and families. After earning his undergraduate degree in economics from Wesleyan University, he began his career in education with Hartford Youth Scholars, the veryaccessorganization that helped him become a Falcon. During his five years there, Tariq grew from associate director to director of placement and student success, dedicating himself to helping students access and thrive in independent school environments. Passionate about giving back to the communities that shaped him, Tariq brings that same commitment to his work at Peddie. He lives on campus and serves as a dorm supervisor, where he enjoys mentoring students and building strong connections with our budding Falcons.

Claudio Middleton P’18 ’21 ’25 joined Peddie in 1999. He graduated with degrees in architecture and art history from the Catholic University of Valparaiso and was previously employed as a lecturer and project director in Chile. In addition to teaching Spanish, Claudio also developed Peddie’s current Architecture Program. He supervises Peddie’s ESL team, which he initiated and developed along with a community leader in Hightstown. Middleton shares dorm duty in Caspersen Dormitory and resides on campus with his wife and three children.

Chad Miller P’27 joined Peddie’s faculty in 2025 after 23 years in education, most recently at an independent school in Florida. He was the sponsor for Mu Alpha Theta and the math team, earning a 2024 Edyth May Sliffe award given annually by MAA. While the bulk of his years were spent teaching multiple levels of Geometry and Calculus, he has taught various mathematics courses in addition to Spanish I and II. In Florida, he ran both the boys and girls varsity tennis teams for 10 seasons and currently serves as an assistant coach for boys varsity tennis and JV girls soccer at Peddie. Chad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and Spanish from Millsaps College and a Master of Arts from Ball State University. As a Semester at Sea alum, he and his family enjoy traveling.

Jennifer Morgan joined Peddie’s Science Department in 2016 and became department chair in 2020. She graduated with degrees in biology and educational leadership and has prior experience teaching high school biology. Morgan assists Peddie’s PEST club and coaches junior varsity cross country. She is a member of the Potter North Dorm faculty team and resides on campus with her family.

Zoe Necerato received her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and exercise science in 2025. Before completing her college education, Zoe received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has worked in several professional settings as a one-on-one and group fitness coach for all ages. Her personal experience as a competitive powerlifter ignites her passion in the weight room, where she hopes all students will fall in love with strength and conditioning.

Kyle Ocampo joined Peddie in 2023 after receiving both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in athletic training from the University of Delaware. There, Kyle was fully immersed with all of their athletic teams providing care to the student athletes. He also completed a summer internship with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. As a liaison between the Athletics Department and Health Center staff, he works to provide the highest quality of healthcare to all students engaged in physical activity here at Peddie. He is a board certified, licensed athletic trainer in the state of New Jersey and a certified First-Aid CPR/AED instructor through the American Red Cross.
Marc C. Onion P’27 joined Peddie in 2007. Marc teaches English and is director of the Chapel Program. Additionally, he coaches soccer and offers fencing as a recreational activity. He has previously served as a student dean. Marc holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College, and a master’s degree in English education from New York University. Peter Park ’07 joined the Admission Office at Peddie in 2014. After earning his undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology from Northwestern University in 2011, Peter began his career in education with Teach for America as a middle-school English teacher in Kansas City Public Schools. Peter has returned to Peddie as an admission officer, is a faculty advisor for Taegeuk Club and serves as a dorm faculty member for underclassmen boys in Potter South. He earned his Masters of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Education Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Peter resides on campus.
Marisa Parra joined Peddie’s Language Department in 2015. A graduate of Buenos Aires University (Argentina), she worked in various day schools and boarding schools before joining Peddie. Parra is also a dorm supervisor in Masters Dorm, and the ddvisor of the LatinX affinity group. During summer breaks she travels extensively — learning and looking for new ideas and fun activities to bring back and share with her classes.

Rachel Riedel joined Peddie’s Counseling and Psychological Services Department in 2024. Rachel has extensive experience in educational leadership; she has served as the associate dean of students at the University of Auckland, and a program leader of university teacher education programs in America and New Zealand. In her career as a professor, her research specialization was mental health education and promotion in education settings. Rachel is passionate about providing high quality mental health services to young people, thus she decided to retrain as a psychologist. In her role at Peddie, she provides supportive counseling, facilitates psycho-education groups, leads wellbeing outreach initiatives and coordinates Community Life.
Jose Roca joined Peddie in 1997 as head athletic trainer. As the liaison between the Athletics Department and the Health Center staff, he works to provide the highest quality of healthcare to all students engaged in physical activities. He is a certified athletic trainer in the state of New Jersey, which means he has earned a degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, passed a comprehensive exam administered by the Board of Certification, Inc., an independent cooperation that reviews the standards of practice and continuing education requirements, is licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners and pursues mandatory continuing education.Jose also teaches Community Life and serves as dorm faculty and student advisor. Mark Sawula joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 2005. Sawula holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree from the College of New Jersey. Prior to Peddie, Mark taught in South Carolina, Minnesota and Australia and held positions at Hewlett-Packard, Princeton Review and the SAT office in New York City. He helped develop the first GMAT course and is acknowledged in the Princeton Review GMAT book. Sawula coaches boys thirds soccer and serves as timer for the basketball team. He is part of Peddie’s dormitory faculty and resides on campus.
Karen E. Serach has been a librarian at The Peddie School since 2015. She holds her MLIS from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in business from The State University College, Buffalo, N.Y. She has worked as a reference assistant in the Mercer County Library System. Karen is also the Peddie Student Book Club advisor.

Jordi Serrato joined Peddie’s Science Department in 2019. Jordi was raised in the eclectic heart of Mexico City. He holds a bachelor’s in pharmaceutical chemistry from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México UNAM, and a master’s in aquatic chemistry from the Marine Sciences and Limnology Institute in Mazatlan. Before joining Peddie, Jordi taught chemistry and physics at TMI Episcopal in San Antonio, Texas, and middle school science at Colegio Bosque Real and Colegio Suizo in Mexico. In addition to his teaching duties, Serrato also serves as a dorm parent in Potter South. Serrato is a proud husband and father, and proud to give a strong voice to students from underrepresented backgrounds. One of his goals is to serve and help future generations in becoming mindful and compassionate humans.

Andrew Slade joined Peddie’s Language Department in 2024 and leads the Latin program while offering independent study to students in Greek. Slade started teaching at Davidson College as an assistant Ancient Greek teacher for undergraduates, and then worked at independent schools in Baltimore and Boston. He earned his Master of Arts in classics from Boston College, where he taught both graduate and undergraduate students. Slade believes studying ancient cultures and engaging with dead languages encourages students to ask questions, think in different ways and reflect upon our world today, while also building critical skills for the modern student. As a graduate of Deerfield Academy, he found that boarding school was crucial to developing his curiosity, lifelong love of learning and pursuit of a well-balanced life. He lives on campus with his wife and dog, and serves as the head varsity boys tennis coach and fall golf coach.

Sarah Somers has been a member of the History Department since 2006. She has served as department chair and assistant coach for varsity field hockey and varsity softball. Throughout her tenure, she has served on the Head’s Advisory Committee, the Faculty Student Senate, the Athletic Committee and the Prize Committee. Somers currently serves as a sophomore academic advisor, is a member of CORE and also mentors newly hired faculty in their transition to Peddie. She received her Bachelor of Arts in history from Moravian College and her Master of Arts in secondary education and history from The Catholic University of America. Somers teaches Modern Global History, The Contemporary History of East Asia, The History of Politics and Sports, Twentieth Century Foreign Policy and Race, Ethnicity and Migration (a class she created). Michael Stewart ’83 P’23 ’25 joined Peddie’s Science Department in 1993. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in geology from Rutgers University. As part of the Math-Science Initiative, he developed the framework for the Summer Signature in the Sciences Program. In addition to his classroom duties, Stewart works with the Cross Country and Track and Field Programs, and is an advisor for Ski Club. He resides on campus with his family and serves as a dorm faculty member for Austin Colgate.
Bob Tackett joined Peddie in 2024 after 28 years in New Jersey public schools. Most recently, Tackett led Allentown High School’s highly successful FRC team and taught engineering and physics. His N.J. state certifications include biological and physical sciences. Rob Toste joined Peddie in 2023 after five years at Pomfret School. While there, he served as a form dean, faculty leader of the Pomfret sports media team, dorm supervisor and thirds soccer coach. Toste also coached the varsity men’s basketball team to the most wins in Pomfret School history. A graduate of Hamilton College, he completed his master’s degree at Teachers College, Columbia. Prior to his work at Pomfret, Toste coached at St. Thomas Aquinas College and was the director of basketball operations at the University of Maine.

A former faculty child who has worked in schools for 25 years, Jim Truslow P’25 ’27 has a literal lifetime of experience in the field of education. As the director of external programs since 2006, Truslow helps Peddie engage with outside businesses and programs, including our summer schools and camps. He is the advisor for all service organizations, has overseen and built Peddie Summer Programs for eighteen years, as well as overseen the re-imagination of the Community and Service Program.Truslow received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, and has previously worked as the associate director for The Peddie School’s Annual Fund. He is a coach, dorm faculty member in Austen Colgate and Peddie’s representative to the Downtown Hightstown group. Truslow resides on campus with his wife Liz, daughter Brooke ’25, son Griffin ’27 and their dog Cider.

Caitlin Turner joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 2024, and has been teaching in Peddie’s Summer Day School since 2020. Turner has previously taught at Red Bank Regional High School and in two charter schools, Great Oaks Legacy and Helen Thackston. A tenured teacher at Red Bank, she coached field hockey, advised the Math League and served on the Faculty Advisory Board, Equity Committee and Social-Emotional Learning Committee. Turner teaches all levels of mathematics, from pre-Algebra through AP Calculus BC. She graduated from York College in Pennsylvania and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.

Mike Volkmar has served as the strength and conditioning coach at Peddie since 2009. Volkmar received his master’s degree in exercise science with a specialization in exercise, nutrition, and eating behavior from George Washington University. He worked for three years as the strength and conditioning coach at GWU, first with the Single A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, and later with the Double A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. He spent one year at the International Performance Institute of IMG Academies in Florida before becoming the director of strength and conditioning at the APEX Academies. Volkmar has advanced specialty certifications (CSCS, PES, CPT) in strength and conditioning, post-rehab exercise, athletic development and sports medicine. He is the author of three books written specifically for the high school athlete.

A graduate of Stanford University where she captained the field hockey team and majored in history, she has taught and coached at schools on both coasts. Coach Emmett Walling, a former Head Coach of the Coronado Swim Association (CSA) and Assistant Coach at UC San Diego in La Jolla, California, joined Peddie’s Athletic Department in 2018. Following an eighteen-year competitive swimming career, Coach Emmett has made a lifelong commitment to athletics and the sport of swimming in order to share his passion with today’s athletes.
A student-athlete at USC in 2009-10 and team Captain for the 2010-11 season, Walling was a 7-time All-American, 2012 Olympic Trials Qualifier, and well-ranked among USC’s Top Ten in multiple events. A native of Manasquan, New Jersey, Walling was a two-time N.J. High School State Champion and a Manasquan High School Athletic Hall of Fame member.
Graduating from USC in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Walling’s focus is on building an educational and transformative environment supported by physiology and biomechanics. In addition to his prior coaching with CSA, Coach Emmett was most recently an Assistant Coach for the UC San Diego Tritons under Head Coach and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Women’s Head Coach, David Marsh.
Anne Weissenberger joined Peddie’s Office of College Counseling in 2017. As office manager, Anne supports the college counselors and the upperclassmen in the college search and application process and coordinates college fairs and other events throughout the school year.

Tristram D. Wood P’12 ’15 ’17 joined Peddie as director of academic support in 1994. Prior to Peddie, Tristram taught in Kildonan School in New York and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, completed practicum work in Northern Idaho public schools and post-degree work at Rutgers. A 2018 graduate of Temple University, Wood taught for four years in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
Maclain Woodbury
History Teacher Assistant Coach, Girls Varsity Lacrosse
Maclain Woodbury joined Peddie in 2025 after two years at the Holderness School, where he worked as history faculty, an assistant coach for football and girls lacrosse, and as a dorm head. Maclain received his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and his Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Prior to his work at Holderness, Maclain was a teacher at Springfield Renaissance School and a coach of swimming and lacrosse at Cranbrook Schools. At Peddie he is an assistant coach for girls varsity lacrosse.
Bronwynn Woodsworth

Bronwynn Woodsworth joined Peddie’s Mathematics Department in 2022. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from St. Olaf College, and resides on campus.
Gregory Wriede
Director of Student Activities & Student Leadership Development Dean of Students, 9th Grade Assistant Coach, Varsity Swimming
After 20 years heading the Peddie Swimming Program as director of competitive swimming, Greg Wriede ’95 P’23 ’25 ’27 has assumed the role of director of student leadership development and student activities. Utilizing two decades of experience developing athletes who competed at the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games and World Championships, he turns his focus to working with the next generations of Peddie student leaders. Wriede resides on campus with his family.

Binbin Zhao
Language Teacher
B.A., Beijing Foreign Studies University M.A., Seton Hall University
Binbin Zhao joined Peddie’s Languages Department in 2019. A graduate of Beijing Foreign Studies University and Seton Hall University and a Visiting Scholar at Tulane, Zhao has been a lecturer at Rutgers, Seton Hall, and a part-time teacher at Lawrenceville School. Zhao brings with her extensive experience in curriculum development and the integration of technological applications into language learning.
