International Applicants
Peddie is committed to fostering a community of individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for learning. Our students come from all corners of the globe, enriching our campus with their unique perspectives. As an international student, you’ll find a welcoming environment that values your contribution and offers a wealth of cultural experiences.
We understand that applying to institutions outside your home country can be a daunting task. At Peddie, we are committed to providing you with the support and guidance you need to navigate this journey with confidence.
At Peddie, you are considered an international student if you require an F-1 student visa to study in the United States or your family’s primary residence is outside of the United States (regardless of citizenship or visa status).

Frequently Asked Questions
I am a U.S. citizen living outside the U.S. Am I considered an international student?
Yes. Students whose permanent/primary residence with their family is outside of the United States are considered international students, regardless of citizenship or visa status.
I do not require a student visa to study in the U.S. Can I be considered a domestic student?
No. If your permanent/primary residence with your family is outside of the United States, you are considered an international student.
Can I send you multiple test scores for my SSAT and TOEFL?
Yes. Tests can be taken more than once. You're welcome to submit all of your scores with your Peddie application.
I am having a hard time scheduling an SSAT in my country. What should I do?
Please review testing options in your region on the SSAT website. We also accept the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE), administered at testing sites around the world. The Peddie School's ISEE member code is 571501.
What average or minimum test score do you look for from international applicants on their SSAT and TOEFL?
We do not have a minimum score for the SSAT or TOEFL. Our holistic approach in reviewing applicants takes many factors into consideration when determining academic strength and fit. However, applicants must demonstrate fluency in English, as we do not offer an ESL program.
I took the TOEFL in a previous year. Will you accept those scores?
We will accept TOEFL scores for tests taken in either the current or previous academic year. Applicants may submit their scores directly through ETS.
How many students will Peddie accept from my country this year?
We value our international community and strive for diversity in our selection process. Peddie is highly selective in reviewing applicants and seeks to form a community of scholars from a wide variety of geographic locations. Thus, the number of students accepted from any one country varies from year to year.
Do you support/issue the form I-20 for student visas?
Yes, we are a SEVIS-certified school. After you are enrolled, we can issue the Form I-20 so that you can apply for the F1 student visa.
How will I know if my application is complete?
You will receive an email confirming the completion of your application from the Peddie Admission Office after January 15, once receipt of all information has been verified. The application checklist in your SAO portal is the best way to keep track of your application materials.
Can I be considered for financial assistance as an international student?
Peddie has exceptionally limited financial assistance funds available for international applicants. However, all students who complete their application and interview by our deadline of January 15 will be considered for our selective merit scholarships. Learn more about affording Peddie.
