AP Psychology is a three-term course designed to introduce students to the basic principles of human behavior and thought. It is also designed to investigate the mental processes involved with human interaction with the world. It is the equivalent of a college introductory psychology course. Among the subfields studied are biopsychology, sensation and perception, learning, motivation, child development, social psychology, and abnormal psychology. Films, class discussions, and computer simulations are used to supplement the text. This course is only an option for seniors. Any student interested in studying science in college should not have this be their only science course in their senior year.
Note: Students taking this course are required to take the AP Psychology exam.
