French IV

Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12, PG
Prerequisite: French III and Permission of the Department 

This course is designed to build on the material learned at the previous levels, to reinforce student€™s knowledge of language structures while adding sophistication. It focuses on different facets of francophone culture and history, and actively expands vocabulary and interpersonal communication skills. All course activities are conducted in French and cover all language skills. Students conduct research projects that culminate with oral presentations and debates, and improve their comprehension skills with authentic material from francophone sources, and their writing skills through essay writing.

Note: Because students in French IV will draw on co-curricular knowledge and will discuss themes that require a mature approach, this class is recommended for students in 10th, 11th, 12th, and PG grades.
