Facility Rentals

Peddie welcomes the use of its facilities by outside organizations who would like to rent a space for their own use. The facilities are available outside of the normal use of Peddie’s own departments, typically available after 6 p.m. on weeknights, between 7–11 a.m. on Saturdays and most of the day on Sunday. There are certain facilities with special time restrictions.
Peddie also welcomes organizations who want to run summer camps and programs on our campus — subject to availability. All outside organizations will be asked to provide a certificate of insurance in order to secure a facility for rental.
Athletic Facilities
The von Schwerdtner Family Indoor Athletic Facility (turf field)
The Von Center is available for use for lacrosse, soccer, field hockey and other turf sports. There are stands for spectators, bathrooms inside the facility and two to three locker rooms.
Erik B. Hanson ’83 Field House (gym and indoor track)
The Hanson Field House holds three basketball courts, space for regulation volleyball and a 1/10th mile indoor track. Retractable stands can be pulled out for spectators.
Outdoor Turf
Peddie’s large outdoor turf field is lined for soccer, field hockey and lacrosse. This field easily accommodates large clinics and multi-team practices (depending on the sport).
Pool
At 35 meters long and 25 yards wide, the pool can accommodate 15 lanes, and is used for multiple aquatics programs and outside groups.
Tennis Courts and Outdoor Track
Peddie has 10 outdoor tennis courts and a state-of-the-art outdoor track that could be used by outside groups or rented as part of a summer program. Typically, The Peddie School does not rent out its grass fields during the school year.
Additional Facilities
Ayer Memorial Chapel The chapel is available for weddings for Peddie alumni and Peddie Faculty/Staff families.
William Mount-Burke Theatre Our 525-seat theater is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound. Available on a limited basis during times when school is not typically in session.
Classrooms and other spaces Classrooms and other auditorium spaces, all equipped with state-of-the-art AV equipment, are available for small meetings and presentations.
Swetland House
Swetland House, the official head of school’s residence until 2013, offers accommodations for invited campus visitors. Originally a 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom house, it was expanded to 7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. For inquiries or reservations, email swetlandhouse@peddie.org. Maximum stay is three nights.
Arrival and Departure
- Key pick-up: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Coates-Coleman House; after hours, at campus security in the Finn M. W. Caspersen Campus Center.
- Check-in: 3 p.m.; Check-out: 11 a.m. Keys return to Coates Coleman House or campus security.
Amenities
- Room options: Queen, king, full and twin beds.
- Facilities: Showers in all rooms, four rooms with bathtubs.
- Provided amenities: Hair dryer, radio/alarm clock, smart TV, Wi-Fi, basic toiletries, temperature control, fresh linens & towels.
- Shared access to kitchen, lounge, and dining room. No cooking allowed; snacks provided.
- Meal options: Guests welcome in Finn M. W. Caspersen Campus Center dining hall when school is in session. Meal times vary, refer to the schedule below.
- No smoking or pets allowed, except licensed service animals.

Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:15 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 6 – 7 p.m.
Sunday:
Brunch: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Dinner: 6 – 7 p.m.
Cancellation Policy
Changes or cancellations must be made five full business days before arrival to avoid a fee equal to one night’s stay. Email swetlandhouse@peddie.org for reservation changes or cancellations.
