Students at the Peddie Writing Center

Peddie Writing Center

Welcome to the Peddie Writing Center. In today’s world, communication in its many forms is paramount, transcending disciplines and classrooms alike. At our Writing Center, students engage in meaningful conversations about the craft of writing, recognizing it as a fundamental skill essential for academic and professional success.

What We Offer: Our Writing Center is staffed by upperclassmen selected for their exceptional writing abilities and leadership qualities. They provide assistance with various writing tasks, including outlining, revisions, creative work and other writing-related endeavors. Whether you need help brainstorming ideas for a paper, organizing your thoughts, refining your thesis, or polishing a final draft, our peer tutors are here to support you. We believe in nurturing each student’s individual voice and helping you develop your writing skills to communicate your ideas effectively.

What We Don’t Do: While we are here to help you refine your ideas and writing, we are not a proofreading service. We encourage students to take ownership of their work and offer guidance and constructive feedback. Our goal is to help you become a more confident and self-sufficient writer, capable of identifying and addressing your own areas for improvement. By focusing on the process of writing rather than just the end product, we aim to foster long-term growth and development.

Visit Us: We’re conveniently located in the Annenberg Library, making it easy for you to drop by between classes or during your study breaks. We understand that your schedule can be hectic, so we’re open during both day and evening hours to accommodate your needs. Got questions? Feel free to email us at writingcenter@peddie.org. We’re always happy to help and provide additional information.
