Call for Entries — Boundless: An Exhibition of Book Art
The Opening Reception for Boundless: An Exhibition of Book Art will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Mariboe Gallery & Donna Sands Exhibition Hall. The exhibition will stay up from February 5–23, 2025.
If you are interested in participating in this exhibition, please read the following information:
The Arts Department are seeking inventive artworks that explore the form and conceptual possibilities of the book, including printed and linear, hand-crafted and tactile, abstract and questioning, edition and one-of-a-kind interpretations of what a book is and can be. We are curious about artists’ books, altered books, sculptural books, book objects and zines. We encourage artists to consider surprising solutions that can unfold on the wall, unfurl from the ceiling or sprawl on the floor.
Eligibility:
- Original work completed within the last five years (2019 – 2024).
- Artists may submit up to 5 works.
- No size restrictions.
- All work submitted for jurying must be available for exhibition.
- All work must remain on exhibit until the end of the exhibit.
- Only juror accepted work will be exhibited; no substitutions.
- Accepted work must be professionally presented and installation-ready.
The gallery reserves the right to return work that is not of acceptable quality, differs significantly from the images submitted, is not original, is not installation ready or is deemed unstable.
How to Apply: Submit via email to artgallery@peddie.org. For each artwork please include the following information:
- Title, materials, dimensions and date.
- 2+ photographs or 1 video clearly documenting the artwork.
- A brief artist statement about content and process. The jurors will refer to these statements during the selection process and will include the statements in wall text at the exhibit.
- There are no entry fees.
The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. EST on January 4, 2025.
Selection and Notification: Participating artworks will be selected from submitted entries by a panel of jurors on the basis of creative excellence and quality of execution.
