Former Falcon Golf Standout Max Greyserman Qualifies to Play U.S. Open
Max Greyserman ’13 made a stunning U.S. Open debut, scoring five-over-par 280, winning a purse of over $200,000 and tying for 21st place at the 124th U.S. Open Championship at Pinehurst, North Carolina.

He impressed greatly at the Tacoma, Wash. sectional qualifier on June 5, finishing the one-day, 36-hole event tied for second with a two-under-par 140. There are 10 qualifying sites throughout the country and approximately half of the U.S. Open field of 156 is filled by players who advance out of these competitions. Nearly 9,500 players began their journeys at local qualifiers with the hopes of landing a spot at the Open.

In previous tournament action in May, Greyserman gained partial status on the PGA Tour Canada Mackenzie Tour when he finished 14th at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Comox, British Columbia at the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada’s Q-School. He shot rounds of 68-70-70-73 (281) at Crown Isle.

Greyserman won the 2015 NJSGA Amateur Championship and the 2014 NJSGA Open, making him the first golfer to win both tournaments since the 1940s.

During Greyserman’s senior campaign at Peddie, the Falcon squad under Head Coach Ben Bickford finished with a perfect 10-0 record, while dominating the Mercer County Tournament, MAPL and NJISAA Prep A Championships.

“I am so happy for Max, especially since I know how hard he works on his game,” said Bickford. “He was instrumental in establishing the strength of our golf program. He deserves all the success he is experiencing.”

Greyserman graduated from Duke University in May with a degree in public policy.
