Free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.

Emotion Language and Regulation for Youth Well Being: March 6, 2025 at 4:15 p.m.

Please join the Stuart School and Princeton Common Ground for a discussion about emerging evidence connecting the words people use to how they manage (or regulate) those emotions. The discussion will be led by Erik Nook, assistant professor of psychology at Princeton University and an associated faculty member at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. Emotions are a cornerstone of wellbeing. At this session, we will discuss studies on phenomena like emotion differentiation (specifically identifying one’s emotions) and linguistic distancing (using language to ‘take a step back’ from upsetting situations). Free and open to the public (adults), but RSVP is required.
