Two Simple Tips for an Incredible Peddie Experience
Ella Chon ’24 has just two tips to get the most out of your Peddie education. But they’re really good ones.
As a rising senior, it’s hard to believe that it was only three years ago when I first passed through Peddie’s main gates. Looking back on my high school career, there are two important tips I would love to pass on to future Peddie students.
First, I advise all students to embrace every opportunity Peddie has to offer! When I first arrived at Peddie, I was intimidated by the sheer number of classes, clubs and activities, but I encourage every incoming student to try something new. Don’t be afraid to sign up for unfamiliar activities or branch out of your comfort zone. It may seem daunting at first, but you might very well find yourself engrossed in an interest you would never have otherwise pursued. Whether it be a club, affinity group or sports team, take advantage of the endless opportunities.
Second, don’t be afraid to ask questions! It may feel scary to speak up in front of your classmates, but chances are, if you have a question, there’s at least one other person who wants to ask the exact same thing. No matter how seemingly trivial the question may be, don’t feel embarrassed to seek clarification. Your teachers and peers are there to support you, and you should never feel ashamed asking for help!
Peddie has always encouraged me to strive for the best possible version of myself that I can be, and I know that it will challenge and excite every incoming student in the same way. Ala Viva!
