Showing Up

Showing Up

Andrew Scrivani ’00

For Andrew Scrivani ’00, giving back isn’t about grand gestures or big headlines — it’s about showing up,

year after year, for the school that gave him so much. “I care a lot about Peddie,” he said. “When I care about something, I want to take care of it and make sure it’s doing well.”

That mindset has guided his 17 years of giving to The Peddie Fund. Scrivani is proud to say his Class of 2000 ranks among the top five for participation in supporting The Peddie Fund. “It’s not always about how much you give,” he said. “It’s about consistency. Giving today or tomorrow can be more impactful than giving years down the line, because this is when the students need it.”

For Scrivani, giving back is personal. “I received financial aid to attend Peddie. Supporting The Peddie Fund is my way of continuing that tradition.”

Scrivani stays connected to Peddie through friendships, by reading the Chronicle and by attending reunions. He loves to see how the school continues to grow and evolve. “Every time I visit for a reunion, I see how much the campus has progressed. It feels great knowing I had a hand in that — knowing that my giving is helping the next generation.”

He describes his Peddie experience as offering endless opportunities, from small class sizes and passionate teachers to a vast range of extracurricular activities. “There was something for everyone,” he recalled. “Theater, sports, clubs, city trips, dinners with faculty — everywhere you turned, there was another opportunity. It shaped me, knowing there are so many things possible; you just have to find them.”

“Every gift adds up to create the Peddie experience. I want today’s students to have every chance that I had — and more.”

One of his most memorable experiences was senior year, when he and his roommate created their own website design class, and it was approved for students to participate in during their final semester. “It was very cool because it was 1999 and Peddie offered laptops, which was a huge thing!”

Scrivani believes it’s important to give back to Peddie for all that Peddie gave him: “You don’t need to give a lot to make a difference. Every gift adds up to create the Peddie experience. I want today’s students to have every chance that I had — and more.”
