Musical Theater I

Musical Theater is a one-term course, focusing on the study and performance of the American musical theater genre. Students will develop a scholarly and performance based approach to such canonical shows as Oklahoma, West Side Story, Pippin, Cats, Sunday in the Park with George, Wicked, Book of Mormon, and Hamilton. They will also receive regular acting and vocal coaching as part of the weekly classroom experience, including feedback from occasional visits by guest artists from the realm of Broadway. The course will culminate in a showcase performance.
