Film and Video
Terms: 2
Grades: 10, 11, 12, PG
In Film and Video students are exposed to the process of producing short films from pitching a story, to scriptwriting and storyboarding, planning and casting, shooting video, capturing audio, and editing it all together. In the first term composition and camera fundamentals are stressed. During the course, students make increasingly complex films culminating in a festival-ready five minute short. Student filmmakers will spend a day in New York City shooting footage for a montage story about the city. Additionally, the class will view many short films and feature length theatrical films to provide insight into the use of light, sound, and shot composition.
Note: This is a two term course (fall and winter).
