Honors Biology

Prerequisite: One year of Chemistry with an A- average (B for Honors Chemistry) and an A- average in Humanities.

Honors Biology is intended for students who possess a strong aptitude for science as well as higher level reading and writing abilities. Students enrolled in this challenging course will utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to design their own experiments, develop hypotheses, analyze data, and draw conclusions. Major themes in Biology will be investigated in detail and students will learn about a variety of topics including evolution, biochemistry, cell structure and function, cellular processes, genetics, biotechnology, physiology, and ecology.
