Photography III

Terms: 1 (not offered every term)
Grades: 10, 11, 12, PG
Prerequisite: Photography II

In Photography III students will continue their investigation of photography as a fine art medium and as a language of mass media. Students will explore “alternative process” photography through the use of pin-hole cameras, cyanotype printing, and traditional silver-based image capture, as well as advanced Lightroom and Photoshop techniques. Students will use studio lighting to learn the construction and language of commercial images and portraits. Students will also explore photography at night through light painting extreme-long exposures. Photography as storytelling will be stressed throughout the course, and a portfolio of images will serve as the final project.
