Joe La Bella ’03 returns to Peddie after an eight-year run at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Maryland. A 2007 graduate of Loyola College in Maryland, La Bella majored in English as an undergraduate and returned for a master’s degree in educational technology. He also has a master’s degree in English from the University of Maryland. At Loyola Blakefield, La Bella immersed himself in the school culture, coaching freshman soccer, founding and leading the school’s Anti-Racist Group (LARG), and sponsoring student clubs such as the Improv Club, The Multicultural Club and the Chess Club.

Sarah Naddelman went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI. Grace Lee went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk. Bella Borde went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-11) fell to Mercersburg Academy, 17-1, after three innings on the road in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Claire Fisher went 2-for-2 with a double. Chloe Salapatas went 1-for-2 with a run scored. The Falcons next face Mercersburg Academy in Game 2 of a doubleheader on the road on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-10) fell to Lawrenceville School, 4-0, in the NJISAA Prep A Quarterfinal on the road. Chloe Salapatas went 2-for-3 with a double. Grace Lee, Sarah Naddelman and Sophia Pei each went 1-for-3. Iris Lin pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs. The Falcons next travel to Mercersburg Academy for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-9) fell to Princeton High School, 9-1, at home in the final home game of the regular season. Claire Fisher, Sarah Nadde;man and Chloe Salapatas were recognized for Senior Day. Shortstop Salapatas, went 2-for-3 at the plate and also made a strong throw to home on a relay throw to catcher Sarah Naddelman, to prevent a run early in the top of the fourth inning. Salapatas would end the top of the fourth inning with a diving catch to her right after a long run at shortstop. Claire Fisher and Sam Kent also had a hit. The Falcons next travel to Lawrenceville School for the NJISAA Prep A Quarterfinal on Wednesday, May 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-8) fell to The Hun School of Princeton, 11-1, after five innings, on the road. Claire Fisher had an RBI and a stolen base. Chloe Salapatas scored a run. Sam Kent went 1-for-2 with a stolen base. The Falcons next host Lawrenceville School on Tuesday, May 6 at 4:15 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.
Softball – Varsity Girls vs. Hopewell High School

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-7) defeated Hopewell Valley Central High School, 7-4, at home.
Claire Fisher worked a walk with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and Chloe Salapatas scored from third on the passed ball to increase the Peddie lead to 6-4. Sarah Naddelman had an RBI single through the middle to score Claire Fisher with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to increase the Peddie lead to 7-4.
Salapatas went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, three stolen bases and a walk. Grace Lee went 1-for-2 with two RBI and two walks. Sarah Naddelman went 1-for-2 with two RBI, a run scored and a walk.
The Falcons next travel to The Hun School of Princeton on Tuesday, April 29 at 4:15 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (1-7) defeated The Hill School, 20-6, after four innings, at home. It was the first career win for first-year head coach Tom Meneskie. Sam Kent went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Grace Lee went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Sarah Naddelman went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. The Falcons next host Hopewell Valley Central High School on Monday, April 28 at 4:15 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.
