Girls Softball

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (2-2) defeated Rutgers Preparatory School, 15-5, in five innings at home. Jules Miele went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, a triple and three stolen bases. Sam Kent went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run, two RBI, a double and a stolen base. Cadence Schuster went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base. Iris Lin earned the win in the circle as the starter, pitched 4 ⅓ innings, allowed five runs (one earned). eight hits, struck out three and walked one. At the plate, Lin went 2-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Miele entered the game in the fifth inning and struck out the side to close out the game. The Falcons next host Blair Academy on Wednesday, April 8 at 4:30 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.

The Peddie varsity girls softball team (1-2) defeated The Lawrenceville School, 11-8, at home.

Alex Anton led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a pinch-hit single. Sophia Pei ran for Anton and scored later on in the inning, giving the Falcons a 7-6 lead. Ariana Gomez cleared the bases and scored herself with a full count and two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, extending the Falcons’ lead to 11-6.

The Falcons stranded runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the seventh inning after Sam Kent secured the catch in center field for the final out.

Jules Miele pitched six innings, allowed eight runs (five earned) on nine hits, struck out six and walked none. At the plate, Miele went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Noemi Ortiz went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a double, two runs scored and three stolen bases. Sam Kent went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Lizzie Danbury and Cadence Schuster each scored two runs.

The Falcons next host Rutgers Preparatory School on Thursday, April 2 at 4:15 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.

Jules Miele went 1-for-3 with three runs scored, two walks and a stolen base. Lizzie Danbury, Candence Schuster and Ariana Gomez each added an RBI. Iris Lin pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run on eight hits, striking out three and walking three. The Falcons next host The Lawrenceville School on Tuesday, March 31 at 4:15 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.

She also pitched six innings for a complete game. Jules Miele went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a double and a run scored. Noemi Ortiz went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and a stolen base. The Falcons next host Ewing High School in a home opener on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. at the Varsity Softball Field.
