Head Coach, Ben Bickford: Varsity Boys Golf

Ben Bickford has been accustomed to coaching throughout his life, working at summer camps and coaching a youth lacrosse team before he started teaching.
Bickford previously worked at the RK Academy and Nike Golf Camps. In 2008, he earned his Level 3 Golf Teaching Professional Card from the U.S. Golf Teachers Federation, showcasing exceptional performance in golf in all testing phases, including an impressive third-place finish on his playing ability test.
Bickford taught at The Chapin School, and many of his students went on to attend Peddie, with a few being the children of Peddie faculty members. He is the parent of three Falcons: Toby ’20, Madi ’24 and Tashi ’26.
“I always looked at Peddie as a dream job, and so when the opportunity presented itself, my family and I joined the Peddie community,” he said.
Bickford is continuously impressed by the students at Peddie.
“They engage in such a rigorous academic experience, and to then switch all of that off and come and compete on the golf course is very difficult,” he said. “I am amazed at their determination and resilience.”
The boys golf program has had great moments for individual players and the team.
“Seeing a player like Max Greyserman ’13 now competing at the highest levels in the world on the PGA Tour after his time here at Peddie is pretty special,” Bickford said. ”But I am most proud of the relationships formed at the golf course and all the hard work the players have dedicated to representing their school and classmates out on the golf course.”
Through teaching and coaching, his hope is to foster a culture of dedication, resilience, respect, adaptability and continuous growth.
In his free time, Bickford enjoys golfing, gardening and reading a good book on the beach.
