The Peddie Fund
The experiences of every member of the Peddie community are touched by The Peddie Fund, a critical resource that impacts all aspects of campus life. Thank you to each and every one of our Peddie Fund donors for providing Peddie with immediate and unrestricted funds, which are crucial to ensuring every part of the transformative Peddie experience.
“The support of Peddie Fund donors and their belief in us and the mission of the school is really important. It allows the students to have the best experience possible,” said Sbarro. With gratitude and enthusiasm, Sbarro shared his passion for biology, the subject of his STEM experience. “I am interested in learning about biological systems. I want to research biology and ecology and how we can use both subjects to develop more stress-resistant crops. Peddie’s various clubs and wide range of classes have allowed me to pursue this career path early on.”

In addition to biology, Sbarro is passionate about theater and enjoyed being in a lead role in last year’s Peddie theater musical, “The Prom.” “I got to work with my friends and make a show that we were all really proud of.” By exploring these interests simultaneously, he shared, “One lends itself to the other. Theater helps with my presentations in bio.”
Sbarro’s most transformative moment so far was in his sophomore year when he won the Swetland Cup, awarded to the student who made the greatest contribution to the school in their freshman year. “It assured me that I was doing things right,” he said.
For the next two years, Sbarro will continue trying new things that perhaps he never saw himself doing. “This year, I’m the leader of the Peddie Environmental and Sustainability Team (PEST) garden. It has been a great opportunity for me to learn something new!”
Reflecting on his gratitude for the opportunities Peddie has provided him and his friends, Sbarro said, “Donors truly open doors for people in the community and help create the next generation of model citizens. Their support is greatly appreciated.”
