The Peddie varsity football team (2-7) fell to Blair Academy, 42-18, on Peddie-Blair Day at Blair Academy to conclude the season.

Freddy Melton went 7 of 13 passing for 125 yards.

Jeremiah Davis rushed 12 times for 95 yards and scored an 8-yard rushing touchdown late in the first quarter.

Joey Gaston found Cooper Allen for an 8-yard touchdown with 5:40 left in the third quarter. Allen finished the game with two receiving touchdowns on four catches for 119 receiving yards.

Defensively, Augie Cassidy made a team-high 13 total tackles (eight assisted, five solo, four for a loss). Bryce Layade made nine total tackles (five solo, four assisted). Reed Oliver made nine total tackles (eight assisted, two for a loss, one solo and half a sack). Griffin Brennan made seven total tackles (six assisted, one solo, one for a loss and half a sack). Jonathan Stizza made seven total tackles (five assisted, two solo).

The Peddie varsity football team (2-6) defeated St. Luke’s School (Connecticut), 53-21, on the road.

Quarterback Joey Gaston completed 9 of 10 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Gaston also ran for 21 yards and three carries, while recording three receptions for 23 yards. Freddy Melton went 6 of 6 passing for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Jeremiah Davis scored four touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing and one 60-yard punt return touchdown). He tallied 116 rushing yards on 13 carries and three catches for 44 yards. Kadin Huling had two rushing touchdowns, totalling 67 yards on five carries. Augie Cassidy had a 1-yard rushing touchdown.

Cooper Allen had five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. Griffin Brennan had two receptions for 39 yards.

On defense, Cassidy led the team with 10 total tackles (two solo, one for a loss). Brennan had nine total tackles (four solo, three for a loss) and one fumble recovery. Adem Amar made seven total tackles (two for a loss). Reed Oliver made six total tackles (one solo, and a sack for a loss). Aaron Motley recorded five total tackles (three solo) and an interception.

The Falcons next close out the season on Peddie-Blair Day on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Blair Academy at 2 p.m.

Joey Gaston scored a rushing touchdown for the Falcons with 45 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Gaston ran for 63 yards on eight carries. Cooper Allen had eight receptions for 80 yards.

Defensively, Augie Cassidy made a team-high 11 total tackles (seven solo) and forced two fumbles and recovered one. Reed Oliver made eight total tackles (four solo, two for a loss). Bryce Layade made seven tackles (three solo, one for a loss). Griffin Brennan made five tackles (two solo, one for a loss). Bodee Thibodeau forced a fumble. Adem Amar recovered a fumble.

Cooper Allen, Lorenzo Barone, Jeremiah Davis, Joey Gaston, Aarav Kumar, Freddy Melton, Reed Oliver and Christian Velardi were recognized for Senior Day prior to the game.

Quarterback Joey Gaston tallied one passing touchdown to Lorenzo Barone (38-yard score) and two rushing touchdowns. Gaston went 9 of 15 passing for 96 yards and had 12 carries for 182 yards. Jeremiah Davis ran for 130 yards on 16 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns (4 yards and 3 yards). Caleb Feinberg went 4 of 6 on PATs.

Griffin Brennan opened the scoring with a 61-yard interception return with 5:21 left in the first quarter. He also made eight total tackles (four solo, one for a loss). Jonathan Stizza had an interception with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter. Augie Cassidy made a team-high 13 total tackles (six solo, one for a loss, one sack). Cooper Allen made five total tackles (four solo, two for a loss, two sacks).

Quarterback Joey Gaston went 23 of 44 passing for 205 yards and a passing touchdown. He also had nine carries for 32 yards. Jeremiah Davis ran for 32 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown. He also had four receptions for 23 yards. Cooper Allen had nine receptions for 93 yards and three total tackles (one for a loss). Lorenzo Barone had six receptions for 74 yards and three total tackles. Augie Cassidy led the Falcons with 12 total tackles (four solo, three for a loss, including one sack). Kadin Huling and Reed Oliver each had nine total tackles.

The Peddie varsity football team (0-3) fell to The Kiski School, 27-14, at home.

Jeremiah Davis scored two touchdowns, an 8-yard receiving touchdown with 1:05 left in the third quarter and a 4-yard rushing touchdown with 6:31 remaining in the fourth quarter. Davis had 11 receptions for 67 yards and five carries for 52 yards. Quarterback Joey Gaston went 9 of 13 passing for 93 yards and a touchdown pass. He also had eight carries for 79 yards and two receptions for 85 yards.

Caleb Feinberg was 2 for 2 on PATs. Cooper Allen recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter which helped lead to a touchdown. Augie Cassidy recovered an onside kick after the second Jeremiah Davis touchdown. Cassidy made 15 total tackles (six solo, three for a loss) and had an interception. Allen had 12 total tackles (four solo, four for a loss). Griffin Brennan made eight total tackles (three solo).

The Falcons next travel to Germantown Academy on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.

Jeremiah Davis scored two touchdowns for the Falcons, a 73-yard rushing touchdown with 10:33 left in the second quarter and a 53-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown with 7:09 remaining in the fourth quarter. Cooper Allen forced the fumble. Xzaiver Torres had two catches for 47 yards and defensively made eight total tackles (four solo, two for a loss). Augie Cassidy made 13 total tackles (four solo, five for a loss). Reed Oliver made nine total tackles (six solo, one sack). Bryce Layade had seven total tackles (five solo).

The Peddie varsity football team (0-1) fell to Immaculata High School, 45-33, in a season opener on the road at Torpey Athletic Complex.

Joey Gaston completed 12 of 18 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 105 yards on the ground on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. He also had three receptions for 46 yards. Freddy Melton went 7-for-14 passing for 98 yards and a touchdown. Jeremiah Davis ran for 165 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown, with an additional 19 kickoff return yards on one attempt. He also had 80 receiving yards on seven catches and a touchdown. Cooper Allen and Jonathan Stizza each caught a 17-yard receiving touchdown.

Defensively, Augie Cassidy led the team with 15 total tackles (11 assisted, four solo). Cooper Allen made 10 total tackles (seven assisted, three solo and one for a loss). Reed Oliver made nine total tackles (seven assisted, two solo and two for a loss).
