Head Coach, Tim Brennan: Varsity Track and Field

Tim Brennan felt destined to work at Peddie. He grew up four blocks from campus and attended preschool in a room inside the Athletic Center when he was a young child and his mother worked there. He has coached track at Peddie since 1992.

Brennan was a four-year letter winner at Hightstown High School and Muskingum University. Along with coaching at Peddie, Brennan has taught elementary school in South Brunswick since 1992.

His three sons are all track and field athletes; his youngest son was a postgraduate student at Peddie. Brennan said the most rewarding part of coaching at Peddie is watching athletes work out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves to achieve their goals.

Brennan had the unique experience of coaching All-American Lars Kausch at Peddie and decades later coaching Lars’ daughter Luisa. Both father and daughter became school record holders during their time at Peddie.

Outside of Peddie, Brennan enjoys hiking, mountain biking and kayaking.

Brennan has a motivating message for those considering joining Peddie track and field.

“All students can become athletes in track and field,” he said. “Since it is an individual sport with very measurable outcomes, time and distance, everyone can track their improvements. I think there’s an event for everyone and every body type. You can never get bored of the sport. If you do, just try another event.”
