The Peddie varsity girls golf team opened the season competing in the Moorestown Girls Golf Invitational, at Moorestown Field Club. As a team, the Falcons placed second behind the host team, with a 126.

Individually, Jane Wei placed third (38), Ryland Portadin (43) placed seventh, Ruoyi Zhai (45) was ninth and Freja Jensen was 11th (46). Wei also won the long drive on the sixth hole.

The Falcons next host West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School in a home opener on Thursday, March 26 at 4 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (3-0) defeated The Lawrenceville School, 168-181, at home. Jane Wei tallied a team-best 37. Ryland Portadin recorded a 40. Freja Jensen had a 45. The Falcons next host The Hun School of Princeton on Tuesday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (4-0) defeated The Hun School of Princeton at home, with four scores counted (164) in a 1-0 forfeit win. Jane Wei tallied a team-best 38. Ryland Portadin added a 40. Ruoyi Zhai had a 41. Qinyi Li recorded a 50 in her first career varsity match. The Falcons next compete in the HCHS Red Devil Girls Golf Tournament at Heron Glen Golf Course on Friday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team competed in the HCHS Red Devil Girls Golf Tournament, at Heron Glen Golf Course. The Falcons placed second as a team and Ryland Portadin ’29 finished first individually with a 5-under par 67. The Falcons next host Hightstown High School on Monday, April 13 at 3:45 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (5-0) defeated Hightstown High School at home. 166-233, at home. Jane Wei tallied a team-best 38. Ryland Portadin recorded a 39. Leslie Han had a 44. The Falcons next travel to Brookside Country Club to face The Hill School on Wednesday, April 15 at 3:30 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (6-0) defeated The Hill School, 165-211, on the road at Brookside Country Club. Jane Wei and Ryland Portadin each tallied a team-best 38. The Falcons next host Allentown High School and Moorestown High School in a tri-meet, on Thursday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (7-1) competed in a tri-meet vs. Allentown High School and Moorestown High School, at home. The Falcons won one match and lost one. Moorestown scored a 158, Peddie had a 165 and Allentown had a 205. In the win over Allentown, Jane Wei tallied a team-best 36. The Falcons next travel to Princeton Country Club to face West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School on Wednesday, April 22 at 3 p.m.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (8-1) defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School, 158-174, on the road at Princeton Country Club. The Falcons next host and compete in the 15th Annual Swing Against Cancer Golf Invitational, on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

Andrew Ma ’27 of Peddie varsity boys golf won the boys individual title with a 73. Brayden Chen placed second with a 77.

Ryland Portadin ’29 of Peddie varsity girls golf won the girls individual title.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team (9-2) fell to The Lawrenceville School, 169-166, on the road at Mountain View Country Club. Ryland Portadin tallied a team-best 38. Jane Wei had a 40. The Falcons next host and compete in the 2025-2026 MAPL Championships on Wednesday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team hosted and competed in the 2025-2026 MAPL Championships at Peddie Golf Club. The Falcons won the team championship (318) for the second consecutive year. Ryland Portadin ’29 placed first to win the individual title with a 73 (+1). Jane Wei ’27 was second with a 78 (+6).

“They worked really hard this year, they got better every single day that we went out,” Head Coach Brian Dubrule said. “The loss to The Lawrenceville School on May 4 was probably the most influential thing to make them play today. They realized that they had to go out and work hard and stay focused, and they all played really well. We’re looking forward to states and we’ll try to build on this. Everything we do the whole year is for MAPLs and states. Everything else is to get better and that’s what they’ve done all year is get better.”

For Portadin, it was her third 18-hole tournament victory of three this season. Her last victory was winning the Swing Against Cancer individual girls championship on April 25 at Peddie Golf Club. The previous victory was on April 10 at the HCHS Red Devil Girls Golf Tournament.

“It’s a great feeling,” she said of the MAPL Championship team title. “I love coming out here and playing with the girls. We just have a lot of team camaraderie, we all get along really well, we’re all really supportive of one another, we work hard every day during practice. We’re a great team.”

For team captain Jane Wei, the day was rewarded after some obstacles. The 18-hole course was played through wind and rain throughout the day.

“I’m very proud of the entire team, even though the course conditions were hard,” Wei said. “I was really happy with my performance. I was battling with an injury from yesterday and was proud of getting myself ready to go for today.”

Leslie Han ’27 was Peddie’s recipient of the Coach Beth Allain Award. The award is presented to the student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship, dedication to the sport, and a commitment to upholding the principles of honesty, respect and perseverance.

The Falcons next host Notre Dame High School on Tuesday, May 12 at 3:30 p.m. at Peddie Golf Club.

The Peddie varsity girls golf team hosted and competed in the 2025-2026 NJISAA Prep A & B Championship, for the final event of the season, at Peddie Golf Club. The Falcons won the team championship with a 321, ahead of The Lawrenceville School and Blair Academy. Jane Wei ’27 won the individual title (69, -3). Ryland Portadin ’29 placed fourth.

“I’m extremely happy and grateful for our team to have such a good season, a coach that supports us and a well-bonded team that supports each other through this and such great facilities that Peddie Athletics has provided us,” Wei said. “I’m feeling very thankful for such a great season.”

“It feels really good, the girls have worked really really hard this season,” Head Coach Brian Dubrule said. “They practice hard, they play well and they’re really nice, and that’s a key to our sports at Peddie and they embody that. They’re a great team. We play five and we count four, so we had four girls do really well today and all five did really well, so they all could have counted. We have the luxury of play six, count four, this was play five, count four. They really all stepped up.”

“I had a mindset change,” Wei said on her individual title. “I played with the purpose of having fun and to have more love for the sport and it really just helped me fight through the day.”

“Jane has been second in a couple of tournaments and has been right there and today she played spectacularly,” Dubrule said on Wei’s performance. “She was so solid, she made no mistakes and played smart. She played like she did most of last year. It looks good for next year, everyone is a junior or younger, there are no seniors on the team.”

The Falcons close out the season as back-to-back MAPL team champions and now state champions.
