Falcons sweep The Trentonian’s All-Prep Girls Lacrosse honors
It was only Amanda Vos Strache’s second year as head coach of the Peddie varsity girls lacrosse program, but there are no signs of the success coming to a halt anytime soon.
The Trentonian’s Coach of the Year led the Falcons to an 11-6 record, their first winning season since 2022, and the team’s success was highlighted by a 12-8 upset victory as the fifth seed, over fourth-seeded Dwight-Englewood School on the road in the NJISAA Prep A Quarterfinal. This was not the only accolade the Falcons received: six players earned postseason honors from The Trentonian.
Leading the way is senior midfielder Anna Treese ’26, who was named All-Prep Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year after tallying 82 goals, 31 assists and 107 draws in her senior campaign. Over her Peddie lacrosse career, Treese amassed 223 goals and 73 assists. Dominating on the draw and being a consistent scorer kept Peddie cruising to a comfortable lead for several games.
On the other end of the field, Peddie showed dominance as well. Goalkeeper Mikala Kuser ’27 was named Goalie of the Year after a phenomenal 146-save campaign in 2025-2026. Kuser is committed to playing lacrosse at Division I Elon University.
“Coach Vos captained the women’s field hockey team at Stanford University, and while lacrosse is a different sport, I have to believe many of the characteristics that made her successful as a player translate to her ability to coach,” said Director of Athletics Rich D’Andrea. “This year’s team was led by a hard-working, talented and passionate group of upperclassmen, many of whom have earned post-season recognition. Like many in the community, I’ve really enjoyed watching the growth of this program over the last few years and am excited for them to keep stretching.”
“I am not surprised, but we are humbled to have Peddie recognized for all our hard work and success over the past year,” Vos Strache said.
The other Falcons named to the All-Prep Girls Lacrosse First Team are: Lexie Hoffman ’27 (attack), who was a crucial part of the team’s offense, after contributing 27 goals and 11 assists. Mary Kate Giblin ’29 (midfield) tallied numbers of a seasoned upperclassman and didn’t play like a freshman, with 40 goals, 10 assists and 35 draw controls, complementing fellow midfielder Treese. Mya Griffith ’26, who is committed to the Division I program at Manhattan University, and Emily Huang ’26 were both solid on the team’s backline.
Part of the team’s success stems from the bonding that occurred throughout winter workouts, Hoffman said.
“Having those three extra months to play together really helped us adjust and learn how to maximize each person’s value on the field,” she said. “I’m looking forward to growing that culture even more, especially as a senior next year, and making the team the best it possibly can be before I leave next spring.
“We graduate an incredible amount of talent, yet with Mikala, M.K. and Lexie all returning, we are ready to take the program even further,” Vos Strache said. “The motivation and expertise of our strength training coaches will get us even more fit and stronger in the offseason. We also have a lot of rising talent who are ready to fill some of the vacant spots next year.”
