Six members of Peddie’s Class of 2027 have been recognized as Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, one of the nation’s most prestigious academic honors.
Chloe Cheng, Freja Jensen Pedersen, Charlotte Xing-Er Dressel Ji, Sophie Wang, Chloe Yang and Bryan Zhao earned the distinction, joining more than 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide, a group representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors.
To reach Semifinalist standing, each student met rigorous academic benchmarks, including outstanding coursework, standardized test scores and an application essay.
The six will now move forward in the competition for around 6,700 National Merit Scholarships, to be awarded spring 2027.
“These brilliant and creative students have made remarkable contributions to Peddie classes and co-curricular programs throughout their high school careers,” said Associate Head of School Matthew Roach. “It is great to see them recognized at a national level.”
