Calculus-Based Statistics

Terms: 2 (not offered every term)
Grades: 11, 12, PG
Prerequisite: Completion of AP Calculus BC, or Pre-Calculus Honors (with distinction), or AP Calculus AB (with distinction).  Note that this course is not appropriate for students who have already completed AP Statistics.  Admission to the course requires permission of the department.

A rigorous treatment of Statistics requires the tools of Calculus in order to develop a full understanding of the topic. Calculus-Based Statistics provides this kind of treatment, covering many of the same topics as AP Statistics, but including the mathematical underpinnings of the field that can only be understood using Calculus. The course is structured as a two-term sequence (just as Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus).
