From the Dean’s Office

Friday, September 4, 2026

Dear Falcon Families,

We’ve had an incredible week reconnecting as a community and learning what we want to focus on this year. I hope everyone connects with their students and receives their highlights from this amazing week.

It’s been wonderful to witness these students building our community in ways both large and small. Part of what makes our jobs in the Dean’s office so exciting are the results of the curiosity, risk-taking and boundary-testing that define the adolescent experience. We celebrate the positive impact of these defining characteristics, and we’re prepared to address moments when these same instincts negatively impact students or the community.

Our role is to ensure behavioral and community standards are clear, fair and consistent, inspiring healthy participation, cultivating an inclusive and just community, and encouraging everyone to live out Peddie’s values.

Should there ever be a need to course correct, have a difficult conversation or address a violation of school rules, we hope to partner with you. Through this partnership, your student will learn from experience — making amends, reestablishing trust and restoring relationships.

In that vein, each Class Dean (Joe LaBella, Class of 2030; Greg Wriede, Class of 2029; Shani Peretz, Class of 2028; and Jenate Brown, Class of 2027) will hold virtual office hours for introductions and class-specific FAQs on Wednesday, September 9 at 8 p.m. EST. Zoom links will go out by class, and sessions will be recorded and shared.

Looking ahead, Convocation is Monday, September 7 (formal dress required), and Long Weekend is October 3. Please review the 2026-27 Break Schedule and Travel Information as you plan. Finally, please complete all forms in PowerSchool, including any updates to contact information, emergency contacts or guardians.

Ala Viva!
