Outpace the competition

Boys and girls practice together as part of a program that emphasizes individualized coaching and challenging competitions including the nationally-recognized Penn Relay Carnival in Philadelphia. Workouts are tailored to fit the individual. Sprints, endurance for intermediate or distance events, throws or jumps: head coach Tim Brennan and his USATF certified staff have the coaching specialization to cover all the bases. Peddie’s track and field teams have produced many national qualifiers and athletes who have gone on to enjoy tremendous success at the collegiate level.

All students can become an athlete in track and field. Since it is an individual sport with very measurable outcomes, time and distance, everyone can track their improvements.”

Tessa Hughes broke the school record in the girls 300-meter hurdles (47.16), The record was last held by Mitka Hayes (52.6) in 1995, according to head coach Tim Brennan. This is Hughes’ 10th school record.

The winning girls 4×200-meter relay team of Tessa Hughes, Madeline Hughes, Safiyyah Malik and Erin Tam (1:49.67) qualified for Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon in June. The time broke a school record, according to head coach Tim Brennan.
