Earl C. MacArthur
MacArthur arrived at Peddie to teach English and coach football in 1910 and was at the helm for 24 years. With genuine concern for the mission of the school and the development of each boy, MacArthur built a tremendously successful program, fielding nine state championships. From 1916-19, four successive state championships were won under the coaching of MacArthur.
The 1919 team was awarded the championship of the Middle Atlantic States by the Spalding Official Guide and was the first football team to defeat Lawrenceville.
Several of his players earned All-American recognition and many were impact players on some of the top programs in the country. He was inducted in 1987.
