Ian H. Graham, Class of 1950
Ian played the end position for the Peddie 11 in his senior year and captained that team. The challenge for Ian as captain was leading a team in a rebuilding year. He had been a key member of the 1949 team that had a 4-2 record and many of his teammates would play on the undefeated 1951 team.
Ian’s steadfast leadership kept the Falcons in every game, and it appeared that Peddie might win the final contest against Blair.
During his senior winter, Ian wrestled in the 175 lb. class for the Falcons. As a junior, Mighty Graham and Hall of Fame wrestler Ed Perazone shared wrestling responsibilities for the best opponents from the 167 lb. through the heavyweight division.
Off the athletic fields, Ian provided leadership to the school by serving as the senior class president, secretary of the Gold Key Society and being a member of the House Committee.
Ian continued his athletic career at Rutgers. Throughout his life, Ian supported Peddie and its athletic programs as a trustee and loyal Alumnus. The Athletic Center is named in his honor.
