Laura George, Class of 1984

Laura George, Class of 1984
Laura George embodies a standard of excellence that goes well beyond the requirements of becoming a member of Peddie’s Sports Hall of Fame. As a student, “Laurie” played three varsity sports, field hockey, basketball and lacrosse, while maintaining an incredibly high academic average earning her the distinction of being awarded the Winant Cup in 1984 as outstanding scholar-athlete.

During her senior year, Laurie captained both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. She was named to the NJISWAA Prep A All-Star Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams her junior and senior years.

During her senior year at Peddie, Laurie was named the Field Hockey Outstanding Team Player and she won the Lacrosse team award for sportsmanship, leadership and commitment.

Dedicated to lifetime sport, Laurie continued playing field hockey and varsity lacrosse while she was a student at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently plays Ultimate Frisbee and in 1998 was declared the Mercer County Female Player of the Year. She also helps coach at the Lower Bucks Lacrosse Club.

These many accomplishments attest to the fine athlete Laurie was and continues to be. We are proud to place her name among Peddie’s best athletes in the Sports Hall of Fame.
