Sarah F. Bergeron, Class of 1990
Sarah F. Bergeron ’90 excelled in sports at Peddie and at the intercollegiate level. At 5’9″ and weighing 160 lbs., Sarah has been called the strongest rower on the collegiate team for the past two years. During an athletic career that began at age five, she played soccer, and participated in rowing, field, swimming and basketball. She began a rowing career at Peddie that would carry her to a membership of the first female crew in the international America’s Cup competition.
According to Tim Giordano, her crew coach at Peddie, “Sarah always had the motivation to do well in sailing and crew. In my years at Peddie, I would honestly say that Sarah was the best female rower that I have seen thus far. She was gifted with the talent, technique, desires and discipline, and, most of all the strength to really move a boat. Her strength was not only physical in nature. She was a great team player who always went beyond what was asked of her.”
