Breaking records is routine

Away from the elements, the Falcons routinely break personal records, school records and state records. Headed by Head Coach Tim Brennan, our students develop both as athletes and as young adults, learning the values of camaraderie and support along the way. In addition to the league schedule, Falcons compete at the Bishop Loughlin Games, Easterns and National Scholastic Indoor Championships. With a large and talented coaching staff, as well as spirit and drive, our winter track athletes excel. Most recently, the varsity boys winter track team won back-to-back MAPL Championships (2023 and 2024) and the NJISAA Prep A Championship in the 2023-24 season as well.

Four Peddie varsity boys indoor track athletes (Ian Borges, Luke Chon, Parker Hamilton and Baker Pott) competed in the 2024 Bishop Loughlin Games at Ocean Breeze Sports Complex.

Ian Borges placed first in the triple jump with a 44-9.75.

The Peddie varsity indoor track team next hosts the Peddie Invitational on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Indoor Track.

Seven Peddie varsity girls indoor track athletes (Mya Griffith, Madeline Hughes, Tessa Hughes, Imani Jones, Foluke Oladeji, Erin Tam and Ely Ting) competed in the 2024 Bishop Loughlin Games at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Tessa Hughes broke a school record, previously held by herself, twice, with an 8.47 qualifying time in the girls 55-meter hurdles and then an 8.39 in the finals and placed second. Hughes previously recorded an 8.53 time at the 2023 Bishop Loughlin Games. She also placed third in the girls 300-meter dash finals with a time of 41.07.

Foluke Oladeki placed second in the freshmen girls 300-meter dash finals in 44.40.

Four Peddie varsity boys indoor track athletes (Ian Borges, Luke Chon, Parker Hamilton and Baker Pott) will compete in the Bishop Loughlin Games at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Sunday, Dec. 22.

The Peddie varsity indoor track team hosted the Peddie Winter Invitational at the Indoor Track.

Falcons who won events:

Boys 45-meter hurdles: Jelani Cine (6.50)

Boys 400-meter dash: Luke Chon (54.26)

Boys 800-meter dash: Baker Pott (2:02.95)

Boys shot put: Parker Hamilton (47-06.75)

Girls 45-meter hurdles: Tessa Hughes (7.10)

Girls 1,600-meter run: Matilda Kardhashi (5:27.58)

Additional highlights: Foluke Oladeji placed second in both the girls 45-meter dash (6.39) and the girls 200-meter dash (27.61). Madeline Hughes finished third in the girls 200-meter dash, right behind Oladeji in 29.85.

The Falcons next compete in the Bishop Loughlin Games on Saturday, Dec. 21 (girls events) and Sunday, Dec. 22 (boys events) at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
