Indoor Track and Field

Ian Borges, Courtney Cane, Parker Hamilton, Tessa Hughes, Dylan Patel and Baker Pott of Peddie varsity indoor track and field competed in the 2025 Nike Indoor Nationals at the 168th Street New Balance Armory in New York City. Tessa Hughes placed seventh in the girls Pentathlon and set a Peddie record in the girls Pentathlon with a 3,329, according to head coach Tim Brennan.

Ian Borges, Dasyer Bullock, Courtney Cane, Eric Cho, Luke Chon, Jelani Cine, Mya Griffith, Parker Hamilton, Madeline Hughes, Imani Jones and Safiyyah Malik of Peddie varsity indoor track and field competed in the 90th Eastern States Championships at the 168th Street New Balance Armory in New York City.

Courtney Cane placed third in the girls 800-meter run with a 2:16.08.

Tessa Hughes finished eighth in the girls 55-meter hurdles finals (8.47).

The boys 4×400-meter relay of Dylan Patel, Baker Pott, Jelani Cine and Luke Chon placed seventh in 3:29.28.

Parker Hamilton placed sixth in the boys shot put 52-04.00.

Ian Borges placed 12th in the boys triple jump with a 42-02.25.

Baker Pott was 19th in the boys 800-meter run (1:59.52).

Jelani Cine was 24th in the boys 55-meter hurdle semis (7.92).

The Peddie varsity indoor track and field team competed in The Hill School – Last Chance Meet.

Dasyer Bullock placed second in the boys 55-meter dash (6.93) and qualified for Easterns on Tuesday, March 4 at The Armory Track & Field Center.

The Peddie varsity indoor track team competed in the Princeton High School Invitational at Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton University.

Jelani Cine placed first in the boys 55-meter hurdles (7.92). Cine placed second in the boys 400-meter dash (52.05). Luke Chon finished fourth in the boys 400-meter dash (53.62) and Dasyer Bullock was fifth (54.75).

Ian Borges placed second in the boys 200-meter dash (23.57). Borges placed eighth in the boys 55-meter dash.

Dylan Patel placed second in the boys 800-meter run (2:04.13). Luca Romanelli placed fourth (2:07.67).

Parker Hamilton placed second in the boys shot put (49-10.5)

Courtney Cane placed third in the girls 3,200-meter run (11:21.71).

Safiyyah Malik placed fourth in the girls 55-meter dash (7.90).

The Falcons next travel to The Hill School to compete in the The Hill School Last Chance Meet on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m.

The Peddie varsity indoor track and field team competed in the 2025 NJISAA Championship at Lawrenceville School.

Both the boys and girls teams placed third. The boys placed third out of eight teams (60 points) and the girls placed third out of seven teams (47 points).

The Falcons next compete at the Princeton High School Invitational on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Princeton University – Jadwin Gymnasium.

The Peddie varsity indoor track and field team competed in the 2025 MAPL Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lawrenceville School. Both the boys team (97 points) and girls team (94 points) finished second out of seven teams.

The boys 4×400-meter relay team consisting of Jelani Cine, Dasyer Bullock, Luke Chon and Baker Pott placed first in 3:31.06 and broke a new school record, according to head coach Tim Brennan. The previous record was held by Doug Oberfield, Jermaine Bishop, Brad Barket and Lars Kausch (3:31.0) in 1994, and it was hand-timed, not electronic.

Courtney Cane also set a new school record in the girls 800-meter run (2:20.09). The previous record was held by Rachel Provost (2:20.2) in 2007, according to head coach Tim Brennan.

Other highlights: Tessa Hughes placed second in the girls 55-meter hurdles (8.39). Hughes also finished second in the girls 200-meter dash (26.00) and in the girls long jump (16-10.25). Erin Tam finished second in the girls long jump (28-9). Jelani Cine finished second in the boys 55-meter hurdles (7.79). Luke Chon placed second behind Baker Pott with a 52.12 in the boys 400-meter run.

The Falcons next compete in the 2025 NJISAA Championship – Throwing and Jumping events on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Lawrenceville School at 4 p.m.

The Peddie varsity indoor track and field team competed at the Princeton High School Invitational, at Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton University.

Ian Borges won the boys triple jump (43-05.25), followed by Eric Cho (36-00.00). Tessa Hughes won the girls 55-meter hurdles (8.54) and placed fifth in the long jump (15-08.00).

The Falcons next compete in the 2025 MAPL Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lawrenceville School on Friday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m.

Courtney Cane, Lily Gordon, Tessa Hughes, Erin Tam and Ely Ting of Peddie varsity girls indoor track and field competed at the 10th Annual Ocean Breeze Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Tessa Hughes set her ninth school record. She broke the pentathlon school record, and she wrote the long jump school record, while competing in the pentathlon.

She jumped 17-1 in the long jump while competing at the pentathlon, breaking the previous school record of 16-9 set by Louisa Kausch in 2020, according to head coach Tim Brennan. A ninth school record also sets a record for individual school record, both male and female.

Courtney Cane also broke her own record in the 1-mile run in 5:04.02. The previous record was broken earlier in the year (January) at the Millrose Trials.

The varsity boys and varsity girls indoor track teams will compete in the Princeton High School Invitational on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m at Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton University.
