The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (1-0) defeated Nottingham High School, 7-6, in a season opener. The Falcons scored a go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning.

Brody Buchner went 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run scored and four walks. He also earned the win on the mound, pitching four innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits, struck out four and walked one.

Evan Treese went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Eduard Fernandez went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and a walk .

The Falcons next travel to The Pennington School on Tuesday, March 31 at 4:30 p.m.

Haruo Narita went 1-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Brody Buchner went 1-for-2 with two RBI, a run scored and two walks. Jonathan Stizza went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, a double and a walk. Nick Famularo pitched 2.1 innings and Maverick Mullervy pitched 4.2 innings in the victory. The Falcons next travel to The Hun School of Princeton on Thursday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m.

Eduard Fernandez went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk. Brody Buchner and Kadin Huling each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Brody Buchner pitched six innings, allowing four runs (one earned), on four hits, struck out six and walked two. The Falcons next host Blair Academy in a home opener on Wednesday, April 8 at 4:30 p.m. at William M. Thompson ’35 Baseball Field.

Simon Xi went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Kadin Huling went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Jonathan Stizza went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI and a walk. The Falcons next host Mercersburg Academy in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 1 p.m. at William M. Thompson ’35 Baseball Field.

Brody Buchner pitched a complete game, seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned), on three hits, striking out eight and walking none. Eduard Fernandez went 2-for-3 at the plate, with two RBI, a double and a run scored.

The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (5-1) defeated Mercersburg Academy, 13-7, in Game 2 of a doubleheader at home, winning the twin bill. The Falcons hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the seventh inning. Eduard Fernandez hit a three-run home run and then Evan Treese added a solo home run. Fernandez finished the game 4-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI, two runs scored, a double and two stolen bases. Jaden Heble went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Jonathan Stizza went 5-for-5 with five runs scored, a double, a triple and a stolen base. He finished the doubleheader 6-for-6. The Falcons next travel to The Hill School on Wednesday, April 15 at 4:30 p.m.

At the plate, Buchner had two hits. Evan Treese had two hits and two RBIs. Simon Xi added a double. The Falcons next host West Windsor-Plainsboro North High School on Thursday, May 7 at 4:30 p.m. at William M. Thompson ’35 Baseball Field, in the final home game of the regular season.

The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (10-5) defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro North High School, 10-4, at home, in the final home game of the regular season. Kadin Huling, who had four RBIs in the game, drove in Jaden Heble from third with a sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the third inning to open the scoring for a 1-0 lead, after Heble had a double and then stole third. Soon after, Brody Buchner hit a two-run single for a 3-0 lead. Simon Xi made it a 6-4 game with an RBI double, scoring Haruo Narita. AJ Stover’s RBI single scored Simon Xi for a 7-4 lead. Maverick Mullervy pitched four innings and Nick Famularo threw the final three in relief to secure the victory. The Falcons next compete in the 2025-2026 NJISAA Prep A Tournament with a date, time and location to be announced.

The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (two seed) (11-5) defeated The Lawrenceville School (third seed), 4-3, at home, in the first game of the 2025-2026 NJISAA Prep A Tournament.

Nick Famularo ’27 started the game, Maverick Mullervy ’29 entered in relief and then Brody Buchner ’26 pitched the sixth and seventh innings in the victory. With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the seventh inning, up 4-3, Buchner fielded a squeeze bunt and charged toward home, using his glove to flip the ball to catcher Eduard Fernandez ’26 for the second out of the inning. He would end the game with a swinging strikeout.

The Falcons took a 3-0 lead after the bottom of the first inning. Brody Buchner grounded into a double play, scoring Kaden Huling ’27. Haruo Narita ’27 had a two-out RBI single, scoring Evan Treese ’28 from third base. Lawrenceville scored a run in the top of the second on a solo home run and then two runs in the top of the fourth inning to knot the score at 3. In the bottom of the fifth inning, with two strikes and two outs, Narita brought in Simon Xi ’28 from second base on a ball misplayed by Lawrenceville in left field. This gave Peddie a 4-3 lead.

The Falcons next travel to top-seeded The Hun School of Princeton for the second game of the double-elimination tournament on Friday, May 15 at 4:15 p.m.

“I don’t have much experience coming in from the bullpen, it was probably the first time since my freshman year. We talked about it in the days leading up to relieve today and start Friday. I was ready for it. I wasn’t expecting them to get on base, but we capitalized. That glove flip was great, we practiced that the other day.” – Brody Buchner ’26

“We took a practice dedicated to pitcher’s fielding practice (PFPs), where we practiced that play for 10 minutes straight, to practice executing that play on defense with squeeze bunts. We had our young kid Maverick come in and he shut the door, we put him in a tough spot, but he executed perfectly. The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (second seed) (11-6) fell to top-seeded The Hun School of Princeton, 14-4, on the road in six innings, in the second game of the NJISAA Prep A Tournament. Eduard Fernandez and Evan Treese gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead with back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the first inning. Brody Buchner started the game on the mound. Maverick Mullervy pitched in relief. The Falcons (1-1) next face fourth-seeded Blair Academy on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at The Hun School of Princeton, in the third game of the NJISAA Prep A Tournament.

The Peddie varsity boys baseball team (second seed) (12-6) defeated fourth-seeded Blair Academy, 10-1, in the elimination game of the NJISAA Prep A Tournament, at The Hun School of Princeton. The Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning for a 5-0 lead. Evan Treese ’28 pitched a complete game, seven innings, allowing one earned run, striking out four and walking two.

“My velocity was there, my breaking ball was working well and I was pitching with the lead, so I was really confident,” Treese said.

“He was able to locate his breaking balls early and was able to use every pitch well. Even when he fell behind, he battled through and got us out of big innings,” Fernandez said on Treese. “And of course pitching with the lead helps a lot.”

First baseman Brody Buchner ’26 had three RBIs. Catcher Eduard Fernandez ’26 had two RBIs. Shortstop Jaden Heble ’27 turned an unassisted double play to end the game.

“We hit the fastball well and we’ve faced this pitcher before, he throws strikes,” Buchner said. “We put the ball in play and made him work and it all worked out.”

The Falcons next face top-seeded The Hun School of Princeton in the first game of the championship series of the NJISAA Prep A Tournament at 1 p.m.

The second-seeded Peddie varsity boys baseball team (12-7) fell to top-seeded The Hun School of Princeton, 13-3, in six innings in the first game of the NJISAA Prep A Tournament Championship Series. Hun wins the title after going 3-0 in the tournament. Eduard Fernandez drove in Kadin Huling from first base to knot the score at 1 with two outs in the top of the third inning. The Falcons scored two more runs in the top of the fifth inning, both runs on passed balls. Nick Famularo started the game on the mound and pitched 4 ⅓ innings. Maverick Mullervy entered the game in relief. Hun hit back-to-back home runs with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 9-3 lead (three-run and solo).
