There are so many opportunities that I can get here that I am not able to get anywhere else.
At Peddie’s 162nd Convocation, Student Body Co-Presidents Luke Chon ’26 and Julisa Lugo ’26 invited classmates to think of the new school year as a “road trip,” and they carried that metaphor through the year. Lugo described it as the “final stretch of the drive to graduation” for seniors. Chon reminded all students that the journey matters as much as the destination, asking, “What kind of legacy will you leave behind?”
While more than 200 endowed funds help keep the Peddie road trip moving forward, the Cory Wingerter ’01 Student Council “Fun” Fund provides something every traveler needs along the way: fun!
“Being a part of such a great community with such a lively spirit has improved my life. Being a Peddie Falcon has, and will continue to, change my life. Thank you and Ala Viva!”
Over the years, the Student Council has continued to use this fund to make community gatherings even more special. Peddie-Blair Week decorations and gigantic custom Peddie flags for energizing fans and victory laps are all thanks to the Fun Fund!
At the beginning of the school year, there is no better way to welcome back returning students and greet new ones than with a carnival. The Cory Wingerter ’01 Student Council “Fun” Fund helps support the opening of school festivities, welcoming our newest Falcons and introducing them to Peddie through the fun and energy of the day. With inflatables, a cable jump, food stations, archery and small rides, the smiles on students’ faces are a wonderful sight. This past year, the fund also provided jerseys for the third annual faculty-staff basketball game.
As students make their way toward graduation, the Cory Wingerter ’01 Student Council “Fun” Fund is one of a few funds designed to ensure the journey is not only defined by hard work and life-changing growth, but also marked by friendship, laughter and memorable moments as a community. If you would like to contribute to the fun at Peddie, just let us know!
